AW Press Conferences

Post by skizz_b »

Stone me if you want but I think we should have a thread that discusses AW's pre-match press conferences and some of the things he comes out with.

It isn't intended to be an Anti-Wenger ragefest, nor a Pro-Wenger bumfest, just discussion on the remarks he makes.

It's 9.28 and my day has been ruined by John Cross quoting Wenger as saying "we didn't sell to a direct rival" about RVP.

He's also been asked about Song leaving and a big name signing coming in, he's said "Both could happen", which pretty much means he's done with Song. Needs a replacement though!

yep. the full quote is, "we didn't want to sell to direct rival. But we've already invested the money. We have massive squad and I believe we have whats needed.'

No worries. Per will do the job.

For the first time in ages I'm actually very comfortable with our CB options.

:barscarf: wooo hoo no self-servicing thread here!! :blah:

Nah its that John Cross got it wrong on twitter - he said

AW said: "we didn't to sell to direct rival. But we've already invested the money. We have massive squad and I believe we have whts needed.'

Having seen Bournemouth's assessment of it as well i think he missed out "WANT" from that first sentence

Wenger on RVP: 'We anticipated this might happen so we bought Giroud and Podolski'

wasn't he also quoted as saying that they were bought to play WITH van persie rather than as replacements? anyone got a link??

Have a feeling we'll sign M'Vila and Sahin, with Song gone. Would be tremendous.

Would that make it a good summer?

In some ways I think so, losing RVP has similarities to when we lost Thierry - completely different people but they left at a point where they were carrying the team and everyone else had to step up

Am amazed that he has admitted publicly that song could go which does suggest that song is finished with us and this pleases me to the level of euphoria that could only be matched by signing messi :barscarf: :barscarf:
