Re: Gone for a Song?
Can we sell baba to another forum while the transfer window is still open??

Re: Gone for a Song?
You are missing the point here Flash, the disgraceful behaviour of the club is being swept under the carpet simply because it involved a player who was unpopular with many of the fans. And it was the club I was directing my anger at more than at Wenger.flash gunner wrote:Baba rejoice in the FACTthat Song has gone there is no need to turn this into another anti Wenger thread. I know Sid and then Donaldo has done it but Sid is a Song fan (you called even say fanatic
) so i can imagine this is how he sees it but you hate Song so rejoice with the rest of us
(obviously not Sid though)
Also whilst not quite being a Song "fanatic" I will say again there are at least 10 players at the club who should have seen the door ahead of Song. The sad fact is they are so fucking bad we can't fucking give them away.
Re: Gone for a Song?
What is confusing about it? I'm not saying that the club aren't entitled to sell him, but that they don't have to manufacture a character assassination in order to justify it.kiwomya wrote:Your post confuses me a bit. Song was under contract - It's up to the club what they decide to do with him.goonersid wrote:None of the allegations being made against the club, board or wenger, whichever you choose, would surprise me in the slightest.
Strange how despite the accusations being made against Song, he was a first team regular all last season and if true why was he never disciplined.
It seems to me that the hypocrites on this forum are willing to take the side of the board simply because they don't like the player.
And do you honestly think that someone at Barca, will not have asked Cesc for a character assessment of Song and if it was apparent that he was ill disciplined and always late for training, that barca would have pursued this signing.
I can accept someone having their opinion on Song as a player and wanting him gone, but it looks to me like he has been treated apallingly by a club run by a bunch of fucking amateurs.
If this is how they do behave is it any wonder we keep losing players and failing in the transfer market, when we do actually try to sign quality (mata being an example)

Re: Gone for a Song?
Sid a totally agree (and the fanatic thing was a joke) there are others id get rid of first and if you see in the first couple of pages of this thread i said id keep him but only as a reserve player to cover a top class DM. All that said I dont rate Song and although im gutted we havent got rid of Denilson, Barry and Diaby im overjoyed at at least one of the 'average generation' at Arsenal going
Also the excuses for Song being sold by Arsenal, Arsene and anyone who throws their opinion in and the subsequent denials by Song and his team of advisors do not bother me at all, i honestly do not give a shit. Wenger doesnt deserve praise for this transfer im just delighted this brainless idiot has gone i dont care whos fault or good job it was

These people (whilst entitled to their opinion) will NEVER admit Arsene has got it wrong. About anything. Ever.

As sid says while i am not a Song fan there are still 10 worst players at the club who Wenger wont get rid of.I wont rejoice till Wenger goes

Donaldo you know, if Wenger finally stopped being an egotists and slung his hook do you know what the AKBs would say?donaldo wrote:flash gunner wrote:Baba rejoice in the FACTthat Song has gone there is no need to turn this into another anti Wenger thread. 'An amazing piece of business by Arsene there. He's so good that he has done the masterstroke of transferring him out. We never needed him anyway, he wastotal crap and won nothing for ten years! Why on earth would we need him! I for one am gad to see Arsenefinally addressing the problem and dismantling a proven loser culture. Arsene Knows!'
I am actually concerned that if Guardiola became our manager, disbanded everything and started again from scratch and then won the CL in 4 years time, that the AKBs would say it was 'all down to the foundations laid by Arsene'.
Uh huh. A foundation built on shit?

Re: Gone for a Song?
Sid and donaldo, can I just say that from my own point of view my hatred of song as a player is the reason from my utter joy at his departure and I ain't interested in the slightest in praising wenger for his sale and I think we all know that is the opinion of most Gooners. That there were 10 other players that could be sold ahead of him is neither here nor there cos the fact is that he still wasn't good enough and needed to be shipped out and I would suggest that the very fact that he was a regular starter would mean it is more important to get rid of him faster than the squad players like bendtner, djouru etc in the hope of upgrading our team (as opposed to the squad).
I also think that it is very easy for us to believe the rumours about indiscipline etc - all we have to do is look at him during games to see his lazy attitude, arrogance and lack of discipline positionally to see that this behavior is in his make up
I defy any of ye to suggest to me that he hasn't shown these traits whilst representing this club cos we have all seen it. The fact that his mate Cesc would have vouched for him is totally irrelevant cos I am sure we could find team-mates of joey Barton that would vouch for him too so again all we can go on is what we see over the season for every minute he plays (as opposed to motd highlights
) and from that he simply is not good enough

Re: Gone for a Song?
I agree with Sid to an extent.
I don't like our business being done in public and the rumours coming out about Song are disrespectful and do no one any good. I suspect it was to ally fans fears over selling him after losing RVP.
However it seems Wenger can't do anything right for some people. If he kept Song and continued playing him Wenger is a c**t. Now he has sold him and got some decent money for who most believe is a player not good enough to play for us no credit goes to Wenger. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't with some people.
While I don't like what has been hinted at in public about Song I do like hearing that Bouldy tore him a new asshole in training as it hints at his influence beginning to take shape on a team that needs more discipline imo.
Good luck to the lad

Re: Gone for a Song?
Precisely. When he wins a serious trophy, he might be regarded as a serious manager. Until such a time, it's a dunce hat and nothing but mockery for Le Clown...Vinny1967 wrote:I agree with Sid to an extent.

All that stuff is conjecture though. I mean, what if it were to be true then? Would that make the situation any different? Would the club then have been right to get rid of him?goonersid wrote:What is confusing about it? Are you personally discrediting Wenger's previous League & Cup titles? I'm not AKB (far from it) but I wouldn't say he hasn't won a serious trophy

Re: Gone for a Song?
Realistically, all it takes is for one 'source' (who need not even be credible) to tell the papers that he's lazy and the story will snowball. The Mirror will report it, somebody else will report that and add to it etc etc. I hardly think we treated him dreadfully, he made it fairly obvious that he wanted to go to Barca and we let him without one iota of fuss. Given that the training sessions in Germany were quite likely open, bit of a leap to pin it on AW or IG, more likely a youth player or a local reporter tring to make a quick buck.kiwomya wrote:All that stuff is conjecture though. He claimed he wanted to sign a new contract but he still had 3 years left on his deal. Given that he walked out on the club with a second thought as soon as the opportunity arose, he expected us to reward his mediocre performances with a wage hike probably on a 5-year deal which would tie the club in to paying him millions even if he lost his place or whatever, yet would still allow him to fuck off whenever he wanted just by digging his heels (exactly as he did).
I don't exactly see how we've treated him like shit and behaved like amateurs? Should we have given into his demands and given him a new 5-year deal on £80k/w even though he's not doing the business on the pitch? Bet everybody would have loved that.

Re: Gone for a Song?
Perhaps Cesc did vouch for Song on what he knew before last season? (as Cesc obviously wasn't there), I saw some of the pre-season games and Song looked even more disinterested than last season. I'm glad he's gone but I also agree with Sid's sentiments about 10 or so who should be gone before Song, anyway, it's a start.augie wrote:Sid and donaldo, can I just say that from my own point of view my hatred of song as a player is the reason from my utter joy at his departure and I ain't interested in the slightest in praising wenger for his sale and I think we all know that is the opinion of most Gooners. Re: Gone for a Song?
No that would be like giving Rosicky a new £70k a week contract for playing 4 good games in 4 years or rewarding the shite Djourou with a contract extension and we know that would never happen. We dont run our club like thatnorthbank123 wrote:
