Welcome new posters
Re: Welcome new posters
g60 31 posts in a year is not much. Don't hold back if you don't agree with Baba. Just go for it. He likes it.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Re: Welcome new posters

Will be posting a bit more now. Having just lost my job my time on here will increase i reckon.
Besides, it seems to be a cathartic experience. Always good to get the anger out amongst a few like minded indivduals.

Re: Welcome new posters
Exactly so. It's like being down the pub with only gooners. I hate being in a situation where I have to defend Wenger, Diaby, Eboue, but on here, with a few exceptions we all have the the success of Arsenal at heart so can criticise the shite!g60gooner wrote:Cheers Chippy. I'm sure a confrontation with Baba is imminent. A kind of initiation i guess.

Wenger, Diaby, Eboue, in the same sentence
Re: Welcome new posters
It can get a bit depressing on here when everyone is being so negative most of the time, but the shower we have to put up with is only going to encourage that feeling i guess.
I agree with both sides on occasion, but i am pretty down on Gazidis,PHW and Wenger mostly. I try and see it from both sides and have an open mind where possible, but the bastards in charge don't half make it difficult for us.

Re: Welcome new posters
I used to be the only positive one last season g60gooner but it is impossible now.
If you are positive now it just shows you don't know anything about football

Re: Welcome new posters
I know I shouldn't rise to the bait but does that mean at the end of last season you didn't know anything about football, and you now miraculously do? Are you back in London yet or still in Manchester? Bloody students.Red Member wrote:I used to be the only positive one last season g60gooner but it is impossible now.

Arsenal F.C. is purely a Business model for some American and his cohorts these days. Hopefully there are enough true fans to get our great club back where it belongs, and soon.
Still not sure if you are a WUM or serious though mate. No offence

I developed a reputation as a WUM because I was considered too optimistic this time last season.
But I was proved right because the team finished in 3rd place.
I just dont see it happening this season so I have had to change my views. I am now considered to be a WUM for this.
I would like to be proved wrong one of these days to be honest

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it's a far better thing to be optimistic in life rather than negative, but if you say something that goes against the vast majority so often that it stretches the boundaries of reason then people will always consider it a wind up.Red Member wrote:g60gooner

However, if you say you are just a positive person, who absolutely believes in what they say, then i guess that it is a nice way to live your life. Just understand that people will consider it naive or total BS. Tis the way of the world for people to be so cynical i guess.

Re: Welcome new posters
Only joined in May with not many posts made so far as you can see.
Born in Hertfordshire in '92 and moved to London when I was nine. Arsenal fan since I was a baby, was all my Dads doing and I wouldn't change that for anything. As a youngster growing up in the 70's, my Dad used to get lifts to home games by Alan Ball during his time with us (or so the WUM says). From the age of about four to ten I was lucky enough to go to the majority of home games with him and my Grandad. Only went to a few games up to the age of fourteen which was when I got back into it more. Went to my first away game that year (Old Trafford 2006, 0-1, Adebayor goal) and have not been able to cure the away-day bug to this day. Thanks to the rise of Youtube and clips over the internet, I have pure jealousy of all of you who witnessed greats such as Brady, George, Rocastle (especially Rocastle) and moments like Anfield '89. God I wish I was born twenty years earlier to see and appreciate that! I Absolutely, absolutely hate the fact we moved from Highbury and again I wish I was old enough at the time to really appreciate what a truly great and amazing place that was.
Ok, Wenger. Only being twenty and knowing nothing other than Arsene FC, the majority of you would think I' am a pure, bonafide AKB. No.
Arsene has been the manager through the whole of my Arsenal life so unlike some of you who experienced the GG era and further back, I have a somewhat sentimental view towards him. But things, in this case Wenger, can lose their sentimental value. Yes the doubles were great. Yes the unbeaten season was just incredible and that will never ever be taken away from him. The number of great players, the style of football and his pure love, commitment and loyalty to the Arsenal (which IMO will not be matched by any other manager we have in the foreseeable future). I've loved every single minute of it. However his constant flaws, we know what they all are. His arrogance, his sometimes belittling of us fans and sideline gaffs' which make the club a laughing stock feel me with sheer rage. And of course his seven years without a trophy. He's not going to be sacked, so after 2014 I just want to experience change.
Also Kroenke and Gazidis - Fuck off!

Its pretty obvious when baba is going to post,he normally waits on match day to see how the game is going if things are going bad he pounces but when things are going well for us he doesnt post.Stick to that formula and you cant go wrong.
Re: Welcome new posters
That is very true. The timing was perfect, and perfectly called by a few after the Stoke game yesterday.mcdowell42 wrote:g60gooner wrote:Cheers Chippy. I'm sure a confrontation with Baba is imminent. A kind of initiation i guess.

Strangely, i do look forward to his posts in a kind of masochistic way. Not that i derive such pleasure in that way normally you understand.

Re: Welcome new posters
I've been a member for a few months but been visiting here a lot longer.
I'm 44 and live in Guildford.
Been supporting Arsenal since I was about 7, only seen them play live once, a pre season friendly at Aldershot about 30 years ago
But now kids growing up and have a bit more money, I will be going to a home game.
Don't post a great deal, mainly because I don't really have a great deal to add due to my limited knowledge, although that doesn't appear to stop others....
Don't get me wrong, I understand the game but couldn't enter into a great debate about the strengths and weaknesses about certain players and how they have performed over the years etc, etc. Not in Baba's league.
As for the manager. See both sides of the argument. He does get major stick on here and I understand why. He has lost his way, is that due to not being able to adapt as the game evolves, is it due to limitations placed on him by the club, or is it that he's a moronic turd who's had his day. Which ever it is, and although it's a few years ago now, I think he should be remembered for the outstanding football that he introduced, with outstanding players at their peak, where as our latest performances over the years are in line with a deteoration with our player base. If he takes us in to mid table this year, as I fear, I may have a rethink.
P.S. Thanks for the warning about KJ at the start of this thread, but don't worry, he's a crap shag
