Guillem Balague, who's very good on Spanish stuff, wrote yesterday that the reason for the Sahin deal falling through is that Madrid became fed up of Arsenal taking the piss. A deal was agreed and two days later, Gazidis allegedly rang back with a reduced offer again, less than what has been agreed.
Arsenal thought they could take the piss as they were the only club in negotiations back then...
Then Scousers showed up. Redo is history, oh and apparently there's an option to buy him too.
Still who needs Sahin when Gervinho and Diaby can create just as much...
Of course this isn't the first time the incompetence of Wenger and Gazidis on the transfer front has been mooted.
Just ask Jan Vertonghe's agent too...
