WALCOTT - which position is best etc?
Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Looks like he's staying after He and Wenger held 'amicable and productive' talks. Apparently he's very happy and doesn't want to go. Seems this is an Agent thing looking to push him.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Ideally he will stay. As Quartz mentioned earlier this has been discussed to death on the other Theo threads.
Since I have posted on them, we have lost Benayoun, RVP and Song - three of our best players last season in a campaign where we struggled to finish in the top four. Would also losing Theo help us improve this season? No, obviously it would only weaken us further.
Young, fast, scores and creates goals, English, level headed and experienced at international and European level. How much would this sort of player cost us to buy from someone else?
The bloke has scored 42 Arsenal goals already, I predict he will go on to hit 100 in his Arsenal career. Perhaps then he will get the recognition he deserves from some. Good luck to him I hope he gets his pay rise he has earnt it..
Bet if this poll was posted after the 5-2 win v Sp*rs the outcome would be totally different. People have very short memories.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
The situation with Theo is strange as we gooners all slate him week-in-week out following his inconsistent performances. Yet he still seems to be highly rated by the media and other top clubs. He undoubtedly has potential which would be best used if Wenger actually kept his promise that he would move Walcott to a central attacking role
but he has failed to fulfill his supposed potential at the club over the 6 years he has spent with us.
However, I voted to keep him as I feel the team would be weaker without him as I don't rate gervinho at all and I think Podolski should be used in a central role.
This isn't to say Theo is indespensiable because there are clearly better players around for £12-15m- the fee we are reportedly willing to part with him for- but I dont have any faith in AW or the club to re-invest the money in a better player so it would be best if he was kept

Strange decision, I'm guessing Theo has said he will sign down the road if he is played as a striker.
I can't see why the club would not sell him and let him not sign otherwise.
Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Perhaps no one is willing pay him 100k a week, so his only option is to go for nothing and try to get a large signing on fee elsewhere at the end of his contract.
Does it matter if we lose out on a transfer fee? We don't reinvest anyway, just make the board richer instead.

Desperate to see him go. Can't stand him, please please sell him. Take the £12m and run, he isn't worth even that.

You honestly think the club are gonna care about how much another club will pay him?
They won't not sell him for that reason.
Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
No, i'm saying his agent has failed to get that figure from us or anyone else who are supposedly chasing him, and that perhaps, what a shock, he isn't as desired and coveted as his over inflated ego believes.Gunnersaurus wrote:g60gooner wrote:Perhaps no one is willing pay him 100k a week, so his only option is to go for nothing and try to get a large signing on fee elsewhere at the end of his contract.

But that makes no sense on the clubs part, why keep him so he can walk for free?

if this poll was posted at ht of the spurs game, i,ll bet 90% or more would have said get rid. anyways looks like the pri madonna is staying in the short term, and wont be sold in this window

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
One swallow does not a Summer make.
Just as -One 45 minute display every 20 games does not a good player make.
I think the majority on here would still have said the same after the spurs game imo.
He is an average player who runs very quickly, usually without the ball, and that is all.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Who would we get in that is better in the space of 2 and a bit days? If he was to be sold it should have been done at start of the summer so a better replacement could be brought in. If Theo does leave Yossi will be brought in as a stop gap.
