AW Press Conferences

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don’t get why folk get so caught up in what wenger says in one press conference, and then when he says something completely different in the next, i.e. Giroud and plod not RVP replacements, next one; actually, yes they were.

I used to, but then I realised it’s just a merry dance he’s dancing with the press corps, and it’s a long long long long long long ongoing game of subterfuge.

Basically the pressers are now akin to a market stall where wenger is hawking his hooky watches around to other clubs. Us ‘common’ fans should basically not believe a single word of them.

To be fair he has amassed enough average players to last him a lifetime so why would he want to bring in more ?    :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I see what you're saying but after a while it does get irksome...tbh I'd rather he stood there like a man and said he had no intention of spending any money and we're shit, rather than lie through his teeth with this smoke and mirrors act he puts on every time.

What blows my mind is that people still put him on a pedestal and believe he farts rainbows, they take his word for gospel like robots :banghead:

Yep. Like I said, us fans are the mugs for believing any of it. The man is a pathological liar and it makes me laugh even more now when I see AKB’s spouting off about ‘in wenger we trust’, oh the sweet sweet irony of it all.

What manager tells the truth? Jesus the way you go on about it you would think Wenger is the only manager who has ever said shit to the press. What do you want him to say about any prospective new signing? 'Oh yeah we'll bring in an avaerage player'. Of course he's going to say they'll have to be top quality.

You wanted class players and he's signed some, just bloody wait. The overriding nonsense that is spouted sometimes, with people working themselves up over stuff that hasn't or might not happen is ridiculous.

Rigsby.
Our No1 keeper is having two medicals before the weekend whilst QPR get Cesar for peanuts.
If he sells our quality world class players, why has he not replaced like for like, ie quality world class players? We do not buy quality players to replace quality players. FACT. We buy average players to replace them with.
We all understand now that he is taking the piss, every fucking time he opens his mouth to speak he lies and I feel insulted.
Maybe he thinks that we are all still drunk on the successes early on in his Arsenal career.
I don't mind us remaining mediocre for as long as it takes, but I ask the git to tell the truth and not string us along.
