When or what will it take to end the current rot?

Tonights been as depressing a night as any we've ever had in the transfer window and we will once again have to stomach the fact that there are gaping deficiencies in the squad and to be brutally honest in the general enthusiasm surrounding the club at the moment.

Arsenal, to me, feels as distant tonight as it has ever been and despite the fact I know that I will keep coming back for more punishment, I really wonder when we will see an end to this abuse of the fans trust and at the very least some signs of recovery?

Will the departure of ODL in 2014 have the desired effect? or will Silent Stans shadow cast the club into the wilderness for the next decade?

There are so many questions but how long will it take to get our club back on track?

I think an ambitious manager who doesn't settle for anything less than 1st place will galvanize the fans into more demand for investment. And I think only significant fan discord will convince the board to loosen up the purse strings.

Kroenke cant believe it.He took over a team that doesnt win anything yet we make massive profits every year.The only business where poor performances make you money

This is it. Surely, they can't believe their luck. They're onto a winner. It always amazes me that the stadium continues to "sell out" and how many people go along with things, buy into it, pay their money and buy the merchandise. All while we sell our best players & turn in mediocre performance after mediocre season.

They have no reason to change things, they're fucking raking it in while the team goes to pot.

At 10.35pm tonight I went onto the .con website to see if there were many tickets on sale for the Southampton game in 14 days and I couldn't believe that the stadium was 99% sold out The only reason I was looking for a ticket was on the off chance that the Gooner army finally decided to get up off their arses and organise a protest and I would not want to be anywhere else in the world if/when that day comes, than being there and unleashing my anger on those arseholes

Since the fans that attend games don't seem overly keen on protesting etc I think the only thing that will end the rot is having a season or two of failing to qualify for the CL. Currently it does seem ideal (purely from a business perspective)- you can sell players for big money, replace them with cheap alternatives, keep raking in the ticket money and make masses from being in the CL. Get 5th or 6th a couple of seasons in a row however and there will have to be change as the CL revenue is vital to any club wanting to turn massive profits, missing out on it would force some sort of change I'd have thought

You can't stop this rot, it will only get worse, protests won't work as the club care very little about what the fans think.

Finishing out of the top 4 is the only way it will change as Stan will cash in and go after a few years of it.

So we balanced the books and no significant investment took place, while we lost two expereienced players, one of which was the best striker in the league last season.

You've got to hand it to Arsenal - despite all the evidence being presented to the fans, they still roll up and hand over the dosh, believing that the club has a long term vision to compete.

I think some of the recent comments on here have been over exaggerated to say the least. I was VERY disappointed we didn't sign cover for the sale of Alex Song but by no means are we the shower of shit some people on here are claiming. It often feels like some on here are extremely jealous of Man CIty & Chelsea because of the signings they make and somehow still try and compare our business to them. These clubs are the equivalent of drug taking athletes - who wants that?

Spurs made some signings but basically lost two of their best players - can't see they have improved too much on that front. Just because they signed some Premier League "name" players doesn't mean they are any better off than at the start of the season. I'm not even going to get into what Liverpool have done (and people on here think Arsenal are in trouble )

Football will be around for years to come and Arsenal will be back up there again. Arsenal have the future in mind whilst others spend and act like the game will end in 3 years. Let's see shall we....
