As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Very comprehensive site that lists all our recent incoming / outgoings with the initial fee's (which doesn't include possible add ons for appearances / trophies / etc)
Makes quite sober reading when you see how many of our sales are significantly higher than our biggest fee outlay - Arshavin for £14m
But remember, we don't buy superstars, we buy cheap players and hope they come good.

Here are a list of players, as per the previous link, sold by us who's transfer value exceeds that of our biggest purchase - Arshavin at £14,5000.00.
Song £14.9m
Toure £16.m
TH14 £16.1m
Nasri £22.m
RVP £22.5m
Anelka £23 m
Overmars £25 m
Adebayor £25 m
Fab 4 £25.4 m
I think that list shows us where our ambitions lie
Maybe it is because I'm drunk and but all I can see is that you sold Overmars anf Fabregas for the same money Chelsea paid for Torres Have to go but think about it
The stadium loans are still being repaid. Alex Flynn's excellent book "Arsenal - Making Of a Modern Day Super Club" gives an idea of the huge amounts involved. I'd recommend any gooner wanting to increase their knowledge of Arsenal's financial restrictions. Especially those continually moaning on here about the lack of big money signings/wages.

I've read it.
I'd recommend that we as a club spend the resources that we generate on the football team not put in a bank.
btw I'm fairly sure Flynn has recently revised his view that the stadium move will push us into the european elite.

This doesn't take into account that Fabregas essentially contributed £5m out of his own pocket and another £5m in contingent payments that Barca's success will almost definitely trigger. That said £35m is still nowhere near what he's worth.
75% of transfer money is supposed to go back on the squad.......where the feck is it going? It can only be on wages as we don't see many new faces. We all know our top players are not on big money so once again, it proves that far too many young/average players at Arsenal are being given huge contracts.
It's all down to Wenger.
Funny thing is, we'd probably make just as much money if we stopped giving out such huge contracts to the dross at the club. Could also reduce ticket prices then.
