Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
What is the record for not conceding from the start of a season? Five or six games?

Why ? Do you really think that Swansea can beat the record ?

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
88 years since Arsenal went first 3 league games without conceding.
BOULD FOR MANAGER

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
If Bould is responsible for the seeming current "stability" of our defensive line (And personally I'm not convinced until we play a team with a real attacking threat. Sunlun and Stoke offered very littleand the victims cant buy a goal), then surely Wenger should be castigated for not implementing defensive coaching years ago?
If some are right then Bouldys only through the door and things have improved 100%. Another example (if one were needed of Wenger incompetence, arrogance and mis-management)

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
How long before Wenger starts getting antsy over all the Bould praise? Saw Bob Wilson and Dicko bigging up Bouldy on twitter after today's match. Wenger didn't like it when people said it was Keown's work with the defence that had them playing so brilliantly all the way to Paris in '06 and I don't think he'd take it to well if asked if he thought our newly found defensive stability was down to someone else.

And I cant have a day off. My hatred of Wenger is all-consuming. I cant forgive him. Its fukin torture I'm afraid.
I'm a bit like Baba lite.

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
He was questioned today by the Sky reporter on who was behind our new found defensive strength, his answer was "the team has improved defensively". No mention of Bouldy.rodders999 wrote:How long before Wenger starts getting antsy over all the Bould praise? Saw Bob Wilson and Dicko bigging up Bouldy on twitter after today's match. Your hatred for Wenger outweighs your love for Arsenal.

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
True. Lets hope it is Bouldys influence. Suppose its something we've been critising Wenker about for years, so we cant really complain if he does let Bouldy coach the defence. Even if it is years too late.goonersid wrote:With you on wenger mate, but the mousers did score 2 against citeh last week.armchair supporter wrote:If Bould is responsible for the seeming current "stability" of our defensive line (And personally I'm not convinced until we play a team with a real attacking threat. Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
at the moment - yes, nice to see some high fives, and hand slapping when the players did good. working as a team, defend as a team and we will reap rewards
it's nice to have a team, instead of a load of individuals

Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
I have to say, so far so good. We aren't playing as high a line, which helps a great deal. I remember last year that we'd get sliced open over and over with one on ones with the keeper because of the high line. Now, we aren't pressing as much and trying to have teams break us down. I am liking what I am seeing so far.
Re: Steve Bould: Will it work?
For the last 3 seasons the defence has got gradually worse while the man who was brought up on the strict defensive coaching of George was coaching the kids.Wenger even persuaded Rice to stay on for an extra year
