Craig Eastmond
Is this guy actually any good?
I notice we still have him on our books and cant really remember him getting much game time. Do the likes of him and Sanchez Watt have a future at the club or are they complete toilet that ODL has kept on the books too long?

Re: Craig Eastmond
I really doubt he will make it as a first team player, I guess he is on a long contract so is being kept rather than cut. Will probably be sent out on loan soon.
For Watt 2 goals in 14 games at Crawley is not really good enough, if he hopes to be making the premiership he should be scoring alot more often.

Think Eastmond will end up in the Championship.
Can tackle but last I saw of him was not as good as Coquelin, and Frimpong offers more too.

I reckon both Eastmond and Watt could make it at a lower-PL to Championship level but I doubt they will be good enought for AFC. AW will just keep them and keep loaning them out like he has done with younger players like Lansbury previously. Two youngsters I hope do get a real chance are Afobe and especially Aneke, who im a bit disappointed we have loaned out, looked great in pre-season

Re: Craig Eastmond
Consistency in competitive matches is a lot more telling than any pre-season form. I think for any players to get a real chance they have to lavish these loan opportunities. Frimpong at Wolves was a big chance for him, shame about that injury. Jack did well at Bolton; Ryo has been doing well at Wigan; that surely will bode well for the latter next year.goonerwalker wrote:I reckon both Eastmond and Watt could make it at a lower-PL to Championship level but I doubt they will be good enought for AFC. He'll make it in the premiership only if Palace get promotion.

Below average footballer, will never make it at this club or in the PL, destined for the lower leagues if he's lucky.
Re: Craig Eastmond
I would bet my house on the fact that he will never play for a PL or Championship side long term. He is below average and another 'Mark Randall', who Wenger kept for years despite looking like a div 1 or div 2 player.

Should have been sold a long time ago. Simply not good enough for Arsenal.

Re: Craig Eastmond
i think this is one of the cases where we keep the player at the club until we can get the best deal possible for him. an 18 year old with no experience is not worth much on the transfer market, but a 20 yo with some FA and beer cup experience for a top 4 team should.
i don't think wenger's "protecting" this one, he had few chances to play for the first team and even though frimpong appeared later and is much younger, he had more chances. i guess it's one of those cases of a young player on short wages who still has a contract - why dump him now when you can wait to see if he improves a bit, gets some experience, and then gets sold at a price that can at least cover the expenses of all the time he spent at the club?

Randall plays for my local club Chesterfield now, went to watch them last week and he was fuckin dog shiteTeeCee wrote:I would bet my house on the fact that he will never play for a PL or Championship side long term. Re: Craig Eastmond
Why is he still here - oh yeah because he was shit on loan at the likes of Millwall and Wycombe.
Arsene no doubt will still roll him out for the FA Cup 5th round and matchday six in the CL group stage, where once again he'll show himself up to be League 2 standard
Get rid please
