Sagna's going to leave and I personally couldn't blame him... yes he came from 'nothing' (arguable as a decent player in the French league & already an international I think) but he's given us five years good service, not excessive injuries, has put up with being surrounded by rubbish & could walk into the City, Utd, Chavs, Real Madrid & PSG teams.

Total contrast from the likes of Nasri and Adebayor, whose rubbish performances we had to watch for a couple of years, they had half a good season and then thought they were too good for the club.

Right-back Bacary Sagna, 29, is given a dressing gown by Arsene Wenger after complaining about the sales of Robin van Persie, 29, and Alex Song, 25.

Swap for Micah Richards who looks to be frozen out at city.

Win, win, they get another 'Arsenal player' we get someone that could become better in time.

The lack of respect Wenger shows to Sagna in that Guardian article is amazing.

I've seen quotes (but not the whole piece) but to be fair Sagna should keep his mouth shut while he's employed by the club.

There's a fine line which players have little respect for.

But if there was an Arsenal player who had every right to complain it's Sagna. He has been a tremendous servant for the club.

yes, but if selling Song for 15million quid pushed him over the edge then he's off his nut.

that was a fantastic bit of business by the club - better than Hleb imho.

Walcott will go cheaply or for free now unless he signs another contract last minute, we don't have that many players left that are worth top dollar now......at least one of them is likely to go to raise money for Kranky's retirement fund!
You're forgetting Jack Wilshere - IF he comes back, stays fit and regains his level of playing - then he'll be the next one to be sold - to either of the mancsum teams - I mean we are officially their bitch now - under wenker! :banghead:  :cussing:

Sagna is too good to be wasting his time here if AFC are going continue being a feeder club  :banghead:

To the next Wenger apologist who claims poor Arsene is being held to ransom by the board bla bla etc

"I believe any player or any employee always has to defend the company he works for," Wenger said. "And if he is not completely happy with it, then he has to go somewhere else. That is basically what I think. That is what I say to everybody."

If Wenger wasn't happy at Arsenal, he wouldn't keep signing all those new contract extensions.

The man is a cretin and an utter joke. He's basically telling Sagna to keep his mouth shut and to let great Arsene carry on with the business of making money for the board and winning fuck all.
Said this before and I will say it again: then people wonder why RVP had to make that statement! If a player keeps his mouth shut, Wenger just does as he pleases, and the player ends up being painted as no longer required, etc....We NEED players to speak out against this ridiculous regime now. And WHY should Sagna keep his mouth shut? Who will speak if he doesn't? Or is it better we have a nice squad full of 'quiet boys' that Wenger loves, like Gervinho, Chamakh and Giroud, shit players who cannot quite believe that they are playing CL football for a major PL club...

No wonder Wenger will never sign top class players. He cannot handle egos. He cannot handle being criticised. Any ambitious player would NEVER sit back and say nothing, as they watched their incompetent manager dismantle team after team, and turn their club into a running joke.

100% with Sagna here, fuck off Wenger :censored:

Yep, Sagna needs to get out while he can - which is exactly what the club want as they're running out of obvious cash-cows.

Geta few quid for Sagna as these's a ready made replacement...

I hate the fact that Wenger uses this analogy and this gives an insight into his thoughts. This is not Tesco (or Wal-Mart for that matter) this is The Arsenal, a football club first and foremost!! Wish he would stop acting like the 'economist' and concentrate solely on being the football manager.

Wenger was dead right to say what he said about Sagna.

If he has genuine concerns the press is not the place for it. There can only be one boss at a club and that is the Manager. Like him or not he has to keep control of the dressing room and he was dead right to answer Sagna the way he has imo.

As regards the contract I fail to understand how we would be offering Sagna a contract now until we see how he returns from his leg break.

Is this true? Im not disputing Wenger said that - we all know Wenger says a lot of stuff that isn’t true. But is it the case or another excuse?

That Swiss Ramble guy recently published something which showed that Arsenal make £50m a season more in revenue than they did at Highbury. If we have to find £20m a year for the loan repayment, then surely (assumming the running costs of the new stadium are not £30m more than what they were at Highbury) the stadium is paying for itself?

This would mean there is one less reason to defend Wenger and clubs outrageous policy of selling our best players. And that the whole stadium debt thing is a myth.

As far as i can see, where finanacial restrictions are concerned, we're not in any way worse off than we were at Highbury.

The "only one boss" line is all well and good in regular jobs but a players career is a short one and I don't see why they should be expected to sacrifice that for a club and manager who seem to sacrificed any intention of winning trophies again  Maybe, and I am just putting that out there, but maybe the players are as pissed off as the rest of us with the fact that wenger is unchallenged by people at the club ? Or maybe he is pissed off with the people above wenger who are supporting a policy of asset stripping (clearly I am not referring to song here  ) without reinvesting the money ?

Btw sagna with 2 broken legs is far more deserving of a new contract than bedtner, almunia and Demi son were when they got their's a couple of years ago and more deserving than djouru was when he got his earlier this year
