Chris Kiwomya

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not sure if this is anywhre else, but as he is an ex Gooner and came at a time of turmoil i just thought it be fair to show our support for what must be an awful time.

"A delightful boy with an infectious giggle": Tributes paid after seven-year-old son of footballer Chris Kiwomya dies suddenly.
Lucas Kiwomya was taken to Colchester General Hospital on Wednesday after suffering breathing difficulties but died shortly after arrival

The seven-year-old son of former Arsenal, QPR and Ipswich Town footballer Chris Kiwomya has died suddenly.

Lucas Kiwomya, a pupil at Highfields School in Lawford, Essex, was taken to Colchester General Hospital on Wednesday after suffering breathing difficulties.

He died shortly after arrival.

A spokesman for Highfields School said: "We are all devastated at Highfields by the sudden and untimely death of a much respected and well-loved pupil.

"Lucas was a delightful boy, with a ready smile and infectious giggle.

"He loved school and was always keen to do his best. He will be very sadly missed by staff and pupils alike."

A spokesman for Ipswich Town said: "Our thoughts are with Chris and his family at this very sad time."

A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics attempted to save Lucas after being called at 7.13pm on Wednesday to his home in Lawford.

Kiwomya, 42, born in Yorkshire, is currently the development squad manager at League One side Notts County.

The striker played 335 games and scored 79 goals during his career. He also played for the England under 21 team.

Notts County issued a statement saying: "We were deeply saddened to hear this week of the tragic passing of Lucas Kiwomya, the son of our development squad manager, Chris Kiwomya.

"The thoughts and prayers of everyone associated with Notts County Football Club are with Chris and his family as they try to come to terms with their loss at this most unimaginably difficult of times."

Hopefully Arsenal will make a statement about this. Did Chris ever play under Wenger's management?

Don't think he played for us after 95? Maybe not even for Rioch. Deffo not for Wenger.

Kiwomya had the best goals per game stat of any Arsenal striker if I recall :rubchin:

We are really seeing the human face of football on this forum this week, what with this and the Ian Wright thread.

I'm not big on faith but I hope the family can draw strength from all our good wishes.
