I mean we have just got a point at Manchester City. Ok they are the champions, but they are still a shitty little club.

celebrate like that if we won, fair enough, not to get a draw.
it is slightly embarrassing that Arsenal now celebrate a point at Manchester City as if we had just won the league
sorry to bit on this but come off it red, you said yourself you've never been to an away game. if you've got up at 8am, been on the beer all day long, 1-0 down to the champions (regardless of the size of the club, they are the CHAMPIONS) for a long period with no idea where a goal is going to come from and someone nets for the arsenal, you go fucking mental. simple as.

the celebration to me at full time isn't a big deal, use the same reasons above and also take note that it wasn't necessarily about the result but more the fact we got a late draw, we are still unbeaten, and we played the champions off the park. glass half full/half empty

What we've got now is absolutely classic. Happened dozens of times before and perfectly illustrates the fractured nature of our Arsenal under Wenger.

On the one hand we have "the realists" or "Wenger Out Brigade".
We see this as a good result against the champions.
But we also see that given a striker (a fukin half decent striker, ie NOT Gervinho) we'd have won that game. So yes a good point, but really shoulda been 3.
We see that Wenger has criminally neglected the goalkeeping position since Dave Seaman. This contributed to us not winning this game and more than a few in the past.
We see that Wenger played Gervinho for 90 mins when anybody who hasn't worked half a day in football could see that he needed to be subbed off for the OX.
We see that Wenger is still doing his usual bollox subs by numbers at the 70th minute mark because he doesn't know how to do anything else, whie good managers have the nouse and balls to identify a weakness then rectify it no-matter what time it is.

On the other hand we have the "AKB's
They see this as a good result against the champions.
They think we should stop complaining and "get behind the team" ??

I think the major difference is that AKB's take each bollox defeat, each draw when we shoulda won, each barren year, each captain leaving, each nonsensical predictable substitution etc, etc.....and excuse it individually or shift the blame elsewhere on a case by case basis.
They dont seem to be able to see that we've been here before - a false dawn, a few good results but ultimately we end up with fuk all. They dont seem to be able to or want to add it all up and see the obvious pattern. They just take it and excuse it one by one when in reality it adds up WENGER NEEDS TO GO. or we're in a bad fukin recurring dream again and again.
Get behind the team? We DO get behind the tean FFS. Thats why we're so fukin frustrated.
I get as excited as any AKB and support the team when we get a good result or a late winner or equaliser but I can also see that theres nolight at the end of the tunnel while Wenger stands there , arms outstretched as manager.

So lets not get too fukin excited - yes Cazorla looks top quality but like Cesc, RVP, et al he'll soon realise we're a sustainable model not a football team and get a trophy fix elsewhere.
And next season we can do it all over again........

OK lads rant over. Ta much.

Wonderful post agree 100%.

A point at Citeh is undeniably a good result. But some of the OTT celebrations you'd think we had just beaten Barca 3-0 at Nou Camp?
We didn't even WIN the game FFS.

Every point made by Armchair is bang on.
Ultimately, what I care about after 8 years of shite is WINNING and Arsenal will win nothing this season so I cannot get excited. I have seen too many amazing seaosn starts when we tonk Blackpool 6-1 (see Southampton this year), get a 1-0 win at Old Trafford even (see Bayor winner) but sooner or later, Wenger's negligent and abhorrent planning ends up catching up with Arsenal.

I think Bould has been an excellent addition and could be a better manager than the overpaid Wenger - but then again I am not as hilariously blind as the AKBs. I can see that the three clean sheets that Arsenal have had all season have been against 2 teams that had absolutely zero interest in attacking, and played with no strikers! The other against a shocking Pool side who currently sit second from bottom and have the Uruguyan Emile Heskey, and errrm...the Italian Giroud in Borini
The defending as a unit is definitely better no question - but Bould has not cured cancer.

Montpellier would have buried Arsenal if they had a proper striker. I said Montpellier. Imagine what Real or Bayern would have done to Arsenal.

Citeh had a clear pen against us not given, Aguera had another clear chance, Koscielny played well but then again almost presented them a winner etc.

I also see that after spending 6 years developing a brainless piece of crap in Theo Wankcott, Wenger is now going to waste a further simlar amount of time developing the new Eboue, Gervinho. He is fucking pathetic Gervinho and would not have made that Wigan team ahead of Victor Moses last season. So what the fuck is that £13 mil waste of money doing here?

The goalkeeping situation is just a bloody joke. HOW LONG? FFS.

The DCM position is alarming. One Arteta injury - and remember his knees are creaking, and it's Diaby and errr oh yeah Wilshere is back (in 2063)

I think Arsenal were outstanding in the first half yesterday but as I predicted, Wenger's disgusting unwillingness to replace RVP with a player of similar class will cost us. So you had a £13 mil donkey, the French Grant Holt who gets nowhere near the team, comical. Oh but he played in France so better to funnel Arsenal money into French football eh?

There were players of quality like Dembele at £15 mil who would have jumped at joining us.
Up front with all the profits made on selling RVP we could have bid for Falcao and Atletico would have sold as they are in the shit.

Llorente has eight months or so left on his contract and is free in Jan. He should be signed, as he is 10 million times better than the donkey from Monmtpellier, who I have been proved 100% correct on.

On the one hand 'the board starve Arsene of funds' but then in the next, Wenger is spending £13 mil on the likes of the new klingon Eboue, and then a further £13 mil on a 'striker' who couldn't hit a barn door and is a luxury sub, being saved for the likes of Coventry in the league cup?! :banghead:

Ultimately, as good as Arsenal are, I just don't see the fucking point of going into every season knowing your team has as much chance of winning the league as Southampton or Villa.
If we couldn't replace RVP, THEN HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FUCKING SOLD SIMPLE.

Just to clarify: it is not us not winning that I cannot handle. It is Knowing Arsenal have NO chance of winning the league that is unacceptable. At the start of the season, ManYoo, Citeh and Chelski fans all know their team has a very good chance of winning the league.

I suppose teams like Liverpool, Spuds know their team has a good chance of winning one of the domestic pots.

Arsenal fans KNOW their team will win fuck all. Why? Because Wonger will disrespect the domestic cups and claim they 'don't count as trophies' (in which case he never ever won a Double, since the FA Cup doesn't count - right?). And then in the league he prioritises making money over trophy success, so no chance there.

As for the Champions League? Oh what you mean that competition where the finest tactical minds in Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson, Jupp Heynckes, Vicente Del Bosque and Carlo Ancelotti have all succeeded?

Paaaah ha ha ha ha ha ha...

It is Knowing I cannot possibly dream of an Arsenal league title every August 31 at 11.59 pm that is sickening.
This year is no different and a couple of good results to start the league changes nothing. We look good for sure, but then again West Brom and Everton are above us in the league table, and the Spuds are just a point behind. So as the AKBs love to trot out

'PERSPECTIVE PLEASE' (whatever the hell that means)...

by the way it is only 2 years since Arsenal won 3-0 at City.

interesting team that won there as well.
it included Fabianski in goal, Djourou and Squillachi in central defence, Denilson in midfield and Chamakh up front

still we got a draw yesterday so we must have a better team now

they had a player sent off after 4 minutes but much like baba you manipulate the truth for your own devices, talk about the players who played for us but dont mention they played 86 minutes with 10 men why not!!!!!!
