WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The truth is he isnt good enough as a winger so why would he be any good as a striker
What? Seriously What?!
I don't understand why he's convinced he's a great striker?
He hasn't said he thinks he's a great striker. He just wants the chance to show he can be good there. He's not once said he's a 'great' striker. Walcott is a very humble guy, boasting isn't his thing.

I reckon that Walcott is scamming us when he says it's ''about playing position and not money'', the sooner this useless wanker goes the better, his 15 minute cameo last Sunday was a disgace, a cross out of play under no pressure, a poor defensive header from our area which led to the overhead chance at the end to name a few things and a general ''I can't be arsed to do this'' attitude, he's a fucking overrated fraud, sell, sell and SELL!!

Theo could be the next Henry or Jermaine Pennant depending on the next few months.

At least he is up for it and confident of playing
upfront but you feel Wenger has seen him
everyday and would of made the switch already.

If his confident give him a go. Not sure I believe any player about not being about the money these days.

1) He's repeatedly said it's his best position.
2) He believes he's worth £100k/w.

Therefore, and I might be reading between the lines somewhat here, he thinks he's a great striker. Asking for a £100k a week on the back of his performances in a red shirt is hardly humble.

I do actually think he should start up front tomorrow because he's not good enough on the wing and it's hardly going to do any harm in one mickey mouse game. That said, to be fair playing in goal hasn't really worked out for Mannone so if he asks a few times should we give him a chance to play up front before we sell him?

Just what part of HIS game is HE seeing that has convinced HIM that HE can play the strikers role :rubchin:

If HE goes one on one with a keeper, put your house on the keeper
This^^^ 8)
100% true...with the exception of one amazing game last season :barscarf: :barscarf:

Sorry but no. He will never have the touch, control or strength of Henry. His finishing is one of the better aspects of his game and even that is nowhere near.

If he does end up making it 'big' as a central striker then I fear that tissues and wipes will need to be provided for his fan club in block 2, otherwise there will be one big sticky mess after home games

For those who wish to give Theo a chance up front  Just what game/competition do you have in mind :?

If the chance fails what game can we say 'we could afford to lose that one'

Why not sell him and buy an out and out striker, job done

We spent 15 Million on this guy and unlike most on here I think he is a good player. If he was played centrally his pace would be an even greater asset. If he does not sign soon then we must get our money back on him. Liverpool would be the obvious choice.

Theo's finishing looks at its best when he's running on to the ball, one touch and shoot (a la Chavs and Coventry) but he wouldn't get many such opportunities through the middle unless we went for a counter-attacking game.

I hope all the fans that were wanking over this greedy fraud's display against Coventry (about his level I reckon) are hanging their heads in shame following his, imo, disgraceful 23 minute cameo yesterday, at any other club, he would be boo'd and jeered to kingdom come, he produced another lazy, useless and couldn't be arse'd performance and I hope, along with the other fraud, Diaby, fucks off very soon.

At one stage a move broke down and their left back had the ball and the brainless c**t just walked away with his back to him despite being 2-1 down and us chasing the game and it was left to giroud to run over and press the chav c**t into conceding a throw   People may slate giroud and his lack of quality but at least he works his nuts off not like the book author who wants 100k per week for doing fcuk all  I absolutely lost it at that time (happened on more than one occasion yesterday  ) and I stood up and shouted at walnut to "fcuk off to liverpool you c**t"  The place was deadly quiet around me at the time and I did get a few disgusted looks from fellow "Gooners"
