I liked Cambell but he was a confidence player who was bullied by Wrighty on the pitch so badly that his form left him completely . He always did better when wrighty wasn't around .
Wrighty tried to do the same to john Hartson however Johnny was made of sterner stuff .
Don't get me wrong I loved Wrighty but his habit of getting suspended or injured for 15 games or so a season meant we had problems mounting a serious title challenge !
The last "homegrown" striker ?

Don't know how Wrighty and John Hartson didn't tear pieces out of each other in training every day.Herd wrote:I liked Cambell but he was a confidence player who was bullied by Wrighty on the pitch so badly that his form left him completely . He always did better when wrighty wasn't around .

Re:
I thought he was average personally but yes he was something different when he broke through. Pure physical strength but thought he was lucky on goal. Many of his shots (you watch them!) were blasted towards goal with the majority at the keeper. Rarely, placed a shot.hugh jardon wrote:Kevin Campbell was dynamite when he broke into the first team
