Re: Diaby
He was stupid to get sent off at newcastle but ffs even with 10 men and a 4 goal lead we shouldnt have lost that game, and that *word censored* dowd gave 2 of the softest penalities ive ever seen, and just to add a conspiracy theory wasnt this the game after the everton game where cesc allegedly made a comment out loud asking how much did everton pay the ref, then dowd gives 2 soft pens in payback for cescs alleged comment in the previous game.
Re: Diaby
McDowell and Gunnersaurus - step forward. A reasoned argument and a bit of common sense at the end of 8 long pages of some of the biggest old bollocks I've ever read.
McDowell - agreed mate on the 4-4. Jesus, can you imagine Man City, Chelsea, or United - no even Everton - suddenly capitulating from 4-0 up on the back of a single red card (and a red card for a player supposedly who contributes nothing to the team anyway !) Of course not - it was bloody ground breaking, the first time in PL history that a 4 goal lead has been tossed away so pathetically. Diaby reacted stupidly granted - he wasn't the first and won't be the last to do so with Joey Barton - but for people to lay the blame at his door for the capitulation that followed....unreal. The whole team's 2nd half performance was shambolic that day, as was Dowd's.

Re: Diaby
imo he should not have played against Sunderland. I said afterwards that he should not have been on the pitch.
Now I am going to get shot down here but, intuitively I have had faith in this player for many years now. He has an appalling injury record which is actually not his fault. I actually enjoy his football skills, when he has been match fit and yes, he does remind me of Vieira, a lot in fact. His indecision during play early this season can be attributed to his lack of competitive play and I will give him time to adjust after such a lengthy spell out.
There are other squad members that deserve to be admonished for their regular performances but, I firmly believe that this lad will come good, given a clean bill of health of course.
Tin hat strapped on.

The Fuck?spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:I cannot stress this enough. I want Diaby out of the club never to be seen again. Diaby is no RVP. RVP didn't get injured anywhere near as much as this basketball player. He's had 3 good games. Big effing deal. Does it excuse the 7 seasons of being absent? The assault on JT in the CC final, the own goal that helped UTD to beat us, the stupid dismissal against Newcastle 2 years ago that cost us 3 points and led to our downfall?
Fuck no.
Diaby I pray every fucking season that you would just fuck off. Go to America and play basketball you tall stupid piece of shit. It makes me sick when people put your name alongside the likes of Viera.

Re: Diaby
Personally I just don't think he is worth it.
He has plenty of natural talent, but the combination of his persistent injuries and a tendency to switch off during matches means I don't think he'll ever be the player we need to challenge at the top.
The injury issue isn't his fault, but we've had so many injury prone players and Wenger tends to count on these players for the season when they aren't actually available for a lot of the time, so it has become detrimental to the squad. The same can be said of the likes of Rosicky and before he left of RVP for the majority of his career with us. Occasionally you can carry someone like that but not the number we have carried and I don't think Diaby has shown enough to warrant carrying through all the injuries.

Re: Diaby
Right, I'm sorry, SteveO, but the catalyst for the Newcastle comeback was Diaby's stupid sending off,(yes Dowd was also a *word censored* giving the 2 non existent pens) but the challenge by Barton, imo, wasn't even that bad.
I reckon that Diaby, because of the injuries that he's had, got the arse by the hardness of the tackle and reacted in a typical brainless way, and he'll have to expect tackles of a similar nature in the future.

Jaysus, Abou - oops, sorry - SteveO...SteveO 35 wrote:Amazing comments on here. I'm going to stop wasting my time after this post - the very people that argued with me that 'nobody wants him to fail' just need to look back on some of the pea-brained shite posted on the last couple of pages.
When he bosses the midfield its because Liverpool were shit and their captain disinterested. Yep that renowned shit pair of Gerrard and Allen. I mean Steven Gerrard has a reputation for being idle and disinterested doesn't he?
Diaby was also clearly the sole shit player against Sunderland (he actually wasn't that bad, and please tell me other than Cazorla who did play well going forward that day). I mean, it was his fault that Giroud missed the sort of chance even Walnutt might have converted. Perhaps one day Abou will develop Theo or Gervinho's natural flair for the game
He personally cost us the game at Newcastle too. Yep, lovely old Joey Barton wouldn't harm a fly would he and didn't go in 'studs up'. Didn't get Gervinho sent off last season either. And Phil Dowd's 2 penalty performance and Rosicky's one man calamity show didn't come into it either. Just Diaby......as usual
By the way, can someone remind me about the nothing story with the Spurs shit again. That one really adds value to the argument and it must be at least five posts since we last heard it. Presumably the same people all still bent up and twisted about Andy Murray winning tournaments because he made some tongue in cheek remark about Ing-er-lund six years ago

I think even Diaby himself would admit that the Mousers were absolute pants that day and Gerard in particular had one of his worst games ever. Admitting that doesn't take anything away from Diaby's performance that day. He still had to do it, he still had to measure his passes, make the right decisions, do the actual running. But the level the Mousers were at that day does qualify Diaby's performance somewhat. And that is why some of our more level headed members here are stating (rightly) that they will believe he is a truly viable option for that position when/if he plays like that for 6 or 7 or 10 games in a row and against the likes of Citeh, the chavs and Manure or against the Mousers when they are on form ands Gerard is playing well.
Let's not forget we have not seen a run of 10 or even 5 great dominating performances in a row from him ever in the 6 years he's been with us. Ever. Sure he has been extremely unlucky with injuries, but that has to be a huge issue too as that role in midfield is hard on a player and if they are not up to it physically then how can anyone justify selecting them for it?
Personally, I'd love to see him put in a season of midfield dominance as that could only be good for The Arsenal and, getting past this whole cult of the player rubbish, that is all that matters to me tbh. But do I believe Diaby will stay fit for a whole season (or even half a season) and thus dominate teams in the middle? No, tbh, I don't. Unfortunately...

Re: Diaby
Like the tackle he put in on Steinsson at Bolton a couple of years ago when he left us with 10 men in the first half? His temperament really worries me, to be honest I'm not that concerned at him jumping out of tackles because everytime there's a loose ball I envisage him going over the top and getting a stupid red card.franksav63 wrote:Right, I'm sorry, SteveO, but the catalyst for the Newcastle comeback was Diaby's stupid sending off,(yes Dowd was also a *word censored* giving the 2 non existent pens) but the challenge by Barton, imo, wasn't even that bad.
