Aaron Ramsey - statistics and form etc.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

lol Here we go again.

It should speak to his quality that the manager is willing to play him in a variety of roles. That's not easy. He's actually looked pretty good out wide IMO, when he dropped into the mid to make up for Diaby's injury against Chavski we lost a bit of an edge I think (partly because the gameplan revolved around Diaby's presence, and without him we weren't set up to cope with them).

Anyway, he gets way too much hate considering his age, inexperience, and potential.

We can't afford the silly flicks etc. He gives away possession too often (like yesterday) to play a defensive role and doesn't pass well enough, or quickly enough, for an advanced role. I think he could develop into a box-to-box type but I think he needs a year at QPR, Wigan etc, a change of attitude and better fitness.

A player like Ramsey would have a role in most teams, but with Wenger's wet dream being to turn us into Spain / Barcelona, every midfielder has to use the ball responsibly and players like him, Song before him, and Oxlade Chamberlain now are not at that level of technical competence

Its easy playing keep ball when you're Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Cesc and co, but for the rest of us also rans we need to develop a style that is appropriate to the players we have. Thats why Stoke don't get on my tits the way they seem to for most Gooners. Should they suddenly start playing tiki-taka or whatever the buzz word is ?

Arsenal do not have the ambition with their transfer policy to sign players fit to play the Barca way but yet try to persist with it regardless of the opposition (even if its Barca themselves). Wenger knows one way, which is why we will never, ever win another trophy with that man at the helm

Should of loaned his out. Not good enough for us and doubt he ever will be. Truly awful player at the moment.

Who let the Welsh play football anyway? 8)

I wish Shawcross had done a near miss and didnt break any of his legs, but it made Ramsey too shit scared to play and retired. Would've saved me a lot of frustration.

Aim your frustration at the bloke who picks him. He may not be good enough to make it at Arsenal but thats no reason to want to end his career. Just more unnecessary posturing around here to see who can be most controversial. Pathetic

So can I just re-establish the forum rules - "fuck off wanker" to Abou Diaby from Mikey is fine. Wishing that a current Arsenal player had both legs broken by Shawcross - fine

Making a couple of silly comments about Denilson being his favourite midfielder - lifetime ban for Red.

Makes the FA's decision to ban Terry for 4 games for calling someone a black *word censored*, whilst banning Barton for 12 games for losing the plot logical now

Seconded - FFS sid get a grip mate. Wenger has ruined another weekend for us all with his pathetic attempt to build a defence, dubious selection policy and lack of tactical nous, but wishing that Shawcross had broken both of Ramsey's legs. Come on

steveo, it was not fine at all, i agree with you.

the one thing is that even though sid is way too pessimistic and his posts (like the one about rambo) are often over the top, what i see is an arsenal fan, who is a regular in this forum and has been so for quite a while, and who genuinely supports arsenal and wants the best for his club. red was obviously a wum, his posts had no other intention but to wind people up and i personally think he (and other people here) don't even support the club.

i'm not making excuses for sid, i dislike most of his posts, and he (and any other poster here) will have to face consequences when stuff that could close us down are posted in the forum. i just think that trying to reason with people to avoid this kind of stuff should always be the first attempt - and when it has no success (like with red, who received numerous warnings) then there's nothing else to do but to ban the poster.

Difficult to argue as a Welsh footballing fan seeing as our two best players of my lifetime (Giggs and Bellamy) are both complete tosspots. Losing 6-1 to a struggling and misfiring Serbia team and many many many many similar instances make me inclined to agree with you sometimes.
