Arsenal v Olympiakos

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don Howe was in charge when i first saw us play and we certainly weren't a huge and successful side at the time.
I'd go so far as to say that we were pretty shit.

However, i wasn't a glory hunter, i simply loved my father, and family's utter passion and love for The Arsenal.
It's stayed with me through thick and thin and that's why i shall be watching tonight, not because i think we will win, i just hope we will as i always do, and no matter how bad things get, or how poorly we play, or how abysmal the tactics and management may be, i will continue to do so. Always. Because i am an Arsenal F.C. fan and supporter.

Just thought i'd mention it. :barscarf: 8)

From BBC...
BREAKING TEAM NEWS
Francis Coquelin starts in midfield for Arsenal. Laurent Koscielny keeps his place in the side and Mikel Arteta has passed a fitness test so plays in midfield. No Olivier Giroud in the starting XI.
I really don't understand why Giroud isn't starting. Surely the guy needs games, and tonight seems an obvious one to play him in. I have to say, I also thought it was odd that he didn't come on earlier against Southampton, as surely that was a golden opportunity to play him with no pressure, at home, in a game where we were banging them in left, right and centre.

Also, no Mertesacker again?? - what has the guy done wrong? he's been our best defender this season, and was outstanding at Citeh, yet was dropped for Chelsea? and not even reinstated tonight either?? - yet, presumably he'll be back in the team against West Ham?? - I reckon this needless rotation at centre back will cost us this season.

I don't get Wenger. I really don't.

Don't get me wrong, I still think we'll win comfortably; Olympiakos are pants! (I assume)

Apparently Mertesacker isn't even on the bench, so either he's injured or has resigned in protest at being unjustly dropped against chavs. Either way, I guess my comment about Mertesacker above isn't quite as valid...even though I do worry that rotating our 3 centre backs will cost us. In my eyes, it's a position you don't mess with unless you really have to. Still, Arsene knows, I'm sure. :?
