Arsenal v Olympiakos

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Cockerill's chin wrote:If my posts on here last night offended anybody other than the troll intended then I apologise. I think it is unrealistic, however, to expect a positive reaction towards a troll who came on an Arsenal forum to berate an Arsenal team when he had spent the night watching Citeeh.

This place is good for debate and sharing frustrations. As frustrated as everbody feels from time to time you know that when Arsenal score there is a collective cheer by posters on here. I do not believe for one minute that the troll cheered anything Arsenal. I hope his ban is permanent because him not being an Arsenal supporter removes his "pass" for his consuming negativity to anything Arsenal.

The now quiet poster from Sunderland is one of the best on here, but if he posted like the troll he wouldn't last a week. I have grave concerns for the true principles which underlie self-sustainability and despair for the lost legacy of the Invincibles but I'm still a gooner. If a warning is warranted for telling a troll what I think of him then so be it, I'm a big boy. Regret offending others but not the troll.
Mate you did not offend me at all. I'm not easily offended, especially from behind a keyboard.

But what I dont understand is the double standards. IMO Babas posts were not "personally abusive" to anyone.
But again IMO yours were. IMO Baba was provoked again and again and just defended himself.

As for Sid. I dont think he should be banned either. He just posted without thinking and obviously does not wish injury on any Arsenal player even if he does think hes shite. But again its the confusion - he started the thread about Wenger that was the catalyst for the forum being closed. (Although in fairness we all posted on it). Yet Red gets banned for posting really innoffensive stuff. :?

As for Red Member. Just should not have been banned full stop. A more harmless, innocent, naive, silly poster I have yet to see. An attention seeker - yes. But worth a lifetime ban? FFS wise up. :banghead:

I would say if you dont like a poster, how they post, their opinion. Just do your best to ignore them. I know its difficult at times but the more you quote them, argue, insult them the worse you make the forum for everyone else. Its no use saying - "He ruins/derails threads with his negative/silly/childish shit." Its "YOU" (not "you" personally CC but a collective "YOU" for all the baba baiters) who ruins the threads by constantly quoting, insulting arguing, mocking etc and bringing their names up in threads where they havent even posted.

Its like a fukin obsession with some posters.

IMO Baba believes everything he writes and I think most of us agree with most of what he says but my problem with him arises with the fact that he actually seems to prefer it when we get beat or play shit so he can come on and give the manager of the decade both barrels. I want wenger gone also but boy do I love it when we are winning and playing well, Baba seemed to get annoyed when we win :!:

Remind me again what we have won. :rubchin:

Ridiculous that anyone would even defend Baba's behaviour.

He consistently enters a thread and derails it and he has been let get away with it for too long.

Last week he claims to be watching a match and slagging Giroud that he hasn't scored and he wasn't even playing !!!!
Last night he comes in slating virtually the whole team and the performance even though he only seen the last ten minutes !!!!

An obvious WUM and he was laughing at each and every one of us.

When you say it's me who ruins threads I'm assuming you are putting me in a group? I don't think my post count regarding the troll reaches much past five posts outside of this thread so obsession may be off the mark unless the bar is remarkably low. I think I've posted my reasons for last night posts. I disagree with your interpretation mate and think the troll isn't a gooner but this is a forum and we don't need to agree. Just as long as we don't troll.

Just read the edit armchair which answers my question. Makes my post redundant!

Some Mods felt Babatunde was a Wind Up Merchant from day one, others thought he was just an angry Arsenal fan.

So that is why he lasted so long.

Red Member was clearly a Wind Up Merchant, I never noticed that he offended anyone but it got ridiculous and trite with him so that is why he was banned; after a while it got tiresesome and disrupted threads.

GoonerSid was out of order with what he wrote, but he is not a Wind Up Merchant going out of his way to disrupt the Forum.

To some it is a fine line, but after a while one gets a feel for the "tone" of a poster and recognises what they are up to.

All decisions are discussed by Mods over a period of time.

Read my post again mate. Not you personally but collectively all those who continue to insult, berate, provoke baba every time he posts and often when he doesn't are the ones who ruin threads not him.

I do not see Red as a WUM. Baba is a Very angry Arsenal fan. You see it differently from me and others. You shouldn't ban people for the reasons you gave. As you say even the mods dont agree.
It was VERY clear after the forum closed that "personal abuse" got you banned. Neither posters especially Red were guilty of personal abuse. Baba has in the past but recently has toned it down considerably.
Fuck me - banning for being an angry fan! Thats fukin every fan in the prem. (Except Red  )

Afraid the Mods are out of order.
I keep saying it but I'll say it again - Threads were ruined because of posters constant insults, quoting etc to Red and Babas posts.

You know, if you all keep getting together for group decisions, you'll all get your periods at the same time.

In keeping with the latest buzz words round here.

Fact.

Its not like those cats got jumped on after 1 post though is it? They were at it for a long long time.

Isn't trolling designed to post one thing and get a reaction. Light the spark, stand back and watch the fireworks? I would say Red excelled at that more than anyone I've ever seen round here. And for a fucking long time too.

Me? I like the old forum, the old rules. But them days are dead and ain't coming back. Its a New World Order man.

Get behind the mods, especially Jayson unless you want to be walking funny for a few days, or get run down.
