weekend games
city 1 up against sunderland kolarov free kick
Re: weekend games
Is it wrong of me to want City to win ?
Hear me out. On the basis that we have about as much chance of winning the League as I have being named president of the Carlos Vela fan club, I just won't be able to bear that judas *word censored* winning it in the first year he goes there, and as for the Chavs...even less so, yuk (although there will be a few 'Gooners' I know that would be delighted for them)
So sadly its come on City

I do agree though - the thought of RvP doing a Nasri and vindicating their move by winning the league straight away would be... to use a Wengerism... hard to swallow.
I know we won't win the league, but I still retain a glimmer of hope that we can win the Champions League

And, although I accept I'm clutching at straws, I do think our new [pre-Chelsea] "togetherness" makes us more competitive than in recent seasons.
That said, I'm an optimist, not an idiot. I accept we'll probably spend the season fighting for top 4, and do the usual thinking of being knocked out by the first quality side we face in the CL. And yes, we'll probably see weakened teams knocked out in the domestic cups as well.... such is the predictable life of an Arsenal fan

Re: weekend games
In the same boat this season and last. Of course I want us to win the PL (and everything else) but being realistic it's just not going to happen. City are a far far preferable option to the others so I can't say I'm pissed off when they pick up 3 points.SteveO 35 wrote:Is it wrong of me to want City to win ?

Re: weekend games
Chelsea 0-1 Norwich

Re: weekend games
Everton concedes (maybe an offside goal) and equalises one min later.. they look stunning this season.
Re: weekend games
1-1 Torres. Fuck.
Re: weekend games
Have to agree with others that Citeh are the lesser of the other evils, Manure and Chelski and if The Arsenal don't win
I would prefer them to.
In saying that I think we can compete this season and I think Manure could struggle. I agree with Kite that Everton are going to have a strong season too and would not surprise me if they sneak into the top four.

Re: weekend games
Can't agree with that at all mate. They are a good defensive unit for a mid-table team and apart from that are hardly flooded with quality. I know that AFC can be very frustrating and at the moment are a way off being as good as the best, but we are still miles better than Everton. Fellaini is a handful, Jelavic looks to be a good goalscorer and Pienaar is quite energetic for them, and that's about it. Look at how much playing time the likes of Coleman, Phil Neville, Anichebe and co get, I know we have some poor squad players but nothing like these guys.Vinny1967 wrote:Have to agree with others that Citeh are the lesser of the other evils, Manure and Chelski and if The Arsenal don't winI would prefer them to.

Normally Everton get off to a bad start and this year they have come out of the blocks playing well.northbank123 wrote:Can't agree with that at all mate. I would agree that they are behind the top four but usually one of those under perform and I would rate Everton above Pool or the scum so I think they have a shot. Can't see them winning it NB, far from it.

Re: weekend games
They quite possibly are better than Liverpool but I reckon Spurs are a better outfit than them. Manchester teams will be top two and although nowhere near as good as they've been billed Chelsea will get top 4, and despite all the negativity on here for me we're a better team than last year when we finished 14 points about Everton.Vinny1967 wrote:Normally Everton get off to a bad start and this year they have come out of the blocks playing well.northbank123 wrote:Can't agree with that at all mate. Re: weekend games
Ok maybe they have an outside chance of getting top four
If they can get Mirallis scoring regularily their midfield will chip in with goals and they are well organised defensively.
I really do feel Manure will struggle this season and for me Citeh have to be favourites bit I think there is a chance for us or Chelski to pip them. Agree that we look a far better team this year and hope the team continue to grow together and if we remain injury free we may surprise a few people.

Re: weekend games
ManU just has a shit team but as long as they can keep both RvP and Rooney fit they still might win it.
