Bans. A mod prerogative? (OK Chippy ??? )

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I set up another username last week after getting banned and after this post I am sure I will be banned again on this username.
I just wanted to set the record straight because I think things are getting out of hand over these bans on here.

First of all most of what I posted on here was not meant to wind people up - I also post on AFC forum and no one has called me a WUM on there yet.
when I first posted on here last autumn I was considered a WUM because I came out with outrageous comments such as Arsenal will reach the top 4 and how important it was we beat Udinese. I still believe in the latter and funnily enough we did make the top 4. from then on though everyone assumed I was just being stupid. maybe sometimes I did play up a bit - but everyone does on here to an extent

that wasn't the reason I was banned though.

Get him banned he's annoying me already

what the MODS did not like and therefore assumed that I was not genuine was because my views changed this summer.
when RVP was sold there was no way Arsenal policy could be defended. Any defence of the club would be in my opinion a wind up. The irony here is that because I became more negative this was considered the wind up!!

I was banned after the City game when my comments apparently annoyed people because I was effectively saying don't get carried away it is only a draw!!

anyway there you go. I apologise if I caused any offence during my time on here.
we are all at the end of the day Arsenal supporters. if I can't post on here I guess I will just have to find somewhere else to post. But at the end of the day I will still support the Arsenal :barscarf:

Baba wouldn't have lasted a minute on any other Arsenal forum the way he posts and generally comes across.

If that's also how he behaves in real life, he must have been on the wrong end of 100's of batterings already.

A WUM if ever I saw one. Only here to post negative bile about the club he claims to support (he doesn't) whilst dismissing anything good about it and abusing all and sundry should they dare argue with the points he made. Clearly he was just fishing for a reaction all along but he was trying to be clever about it, acting genuine and angry to give off the impression that he's a frustrated fan. Bet he was laughing his head off throughtout his wumming spell on here.

Close the door on the scum and never let them near the forum again, thank you.

That's all well and good but I think what the forum really wants to know is how did he manage to bypass that sophisticated IP tracking tool that DB10 uses in the first place?

You know, the thing the goes awoooga, just like Kris Akabusi, whenever someone suspicious logs in and posts?

Seeing as we are discussing all things relating to the changes on here since it re-opened, is there any possibility that we can bring back all the emoticons that we appear to have lost since the shutdown ?

Spotted him straight away. As his new "ego" didn't seem to be a wum we decided to watch him. However when he outed himself we had little option.

I think that the fact Red Member posted on here under a new user-name and openly admitted he was Red, then apologised for his "behaviour" is proof that far from being a fiendishly clever WUM/troll (as some have claimed) that Red is actually just a naive, silly kid probably.

The fact that he/she changed opinion so easilys is testament to the fact that he/she hasn't really formulated any opinions for himself yet.

For me the only reason Red (or baba for that matter) have been banned is because he/she seemed to annoy so many other members. So for harmony on the forum possibly thay deserved a ban just to placare those who shouted loudest.
The squeaky wheel gets the oil so Red and Baba get the hook.

For what its worth I can see how baba was banned even though I disagree with it.
But Red Member I really dont get. I know hes been warned and banned before but IMO they were undeserved too.

The fukin Modstasi are out of control.

At the risk of rehashing what has already been said...

The purpose of this particular forum is for people to air their views and get into discussions about AFC and football in general. It is not meant as a vehicle for people to fabricate views and post in a style intended to antagonise genuine forum users. They might have been mildly amusing at times but the fact is those two posters contrived their opinions and posted in a manner solely designed to wind up as many people as possible, which dragged many good threads downhill as well as pissing plenty of people off.

They had every chance to talk genuinely about AFC and football, and from what I gather ignored multiple warnings to curb their behaviour. Why should people who come on here only to ruin discussion and annoy people automatically be allowed to continue doing so?

i am someone who only posts on here when i really feel i have something worth saying ,so for what its worth my opinion is..........baba just seemed to get too wrapped up in his anger for his opinions to be taken seriously anymore and cluttered up so many posts with the same old angry points that his ramblings became boring BUT red member seemed to be genuine if a little naive and a ban is harsh on him i feel.....he wasnt insulting or aggresive was he?
