weekend games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Think I must have missed that episode of Sesame Street brought to us by the letter C. That must have been one heck of an episode.

Cole gets away without a ban because he said sorry. Fuck me it wasn't calling the FA the bunch of twats that was the bad thing (disrespectful but painfully true), it was that he was adjudged by a senior barrister, a solicitor/ex-player and a local FA member to have lied to cover up racism and responded with typical arrogance and non-repentance.

Greedy as he is a fine won't hurt him, the only way to teach players a lesson is to ban them for their club side.

Brendan Rodgers has endeared himself to Liverpool fans with his Suarez is a Victim comments. Any doubts that Rodgers didn't understand what it means and takes to manage Liverpool were dispelled with that comment.
Having said that Huth did stamp on Suarez but survived because of the knock on effects of Sir Alex's comments about Chris Foy after the United V Spuds game, Webb wasn't going to risk demotion by upsetting Red Nose so all of the weekend incidents were brushed under the FA Carpet.
Suarez did dive against Stoke and is rightly condemned but why no outcry about Bale's consistent diving ? Well you know the answer .
