Bans. A mod prerogative? (OK Chippy ??? )

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don't forget Baba's thread about how Chelsea's new stadium was such bad news for AFC, as it would be a better stadium and the tickets would be cheaper.

Steady on there rigsby. We'd be in danger of losing half our regulars if we were to apply that strict criteria!!

For my 2 penneth i think reds banning was quite harsh. Yes he flip flopped more then ghandis feet on a pilgrimage across India but at least the lad was clearly a fan.

I couldn’t be doing with Baba’s constant negativity and shouting down rather then debating with those who had differing views. As when he did make a point he did have the capability to put forward a well reasoned and to the point argument. Yet all to often he would default to personal insults when challenged.

Also I think he slipped up a bit when he admitted he was watching the citeh vs Dortmund game the other week instead of Arsenals. I don’t know if its just me but if Arsenal are on the telly then theirs nothing to consider, that’s it, decision made. Even if Arsenal were playing a 5-4-0 set-up Luton town, and Brazil vs RoW allstars was on the other channel I would still watch Grand designs  , but seriously that must be the same for everyone else right?

I'm not getting back into the banning of Red Wumber after this last comment. He was NOT banned for his opinion or change of opinion. He was banned because of his conduct, i.e; trolling, WUMing. He posted repeatedly with the single purpose of winding people up and illiciting negative and confrontational responses and for having an overly negative impact on other users' enjoyment of the forum. He was given repeated warnings and temporary bans in a bid to help him moderate his behaviour. He chose to ignore them.

Agreed on watching The Arsenal. Don't give a flying fuck what else is on - if the Gunners are on I watch them. End of.

The banning of Red Member is the best thing to happen this place since Cork Baz's gif thread in the other section. For all those involved in his removal I salute you. :barscarf:

this, if the mods have blocked this particuliar hole for the guy, somewhere on the internet another one has opened up  . Honestly i thought he was unhinged so i ignored much of what he wrote.

Red was a classic wum, but i have to admit, it was funny to see people reactions when he broke from conventional views of players, and at least he never pulled threads off course.

Every time I'm in the Bodhran supping on a pint and the doors open my head hopefully rises up and glances over.

Every time it goes back down in silent disappointment. :(
