Canaries V (what proved to be) the Arsenal light-weights

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Norwich had a good defensive performance; they were focused and committed. We had a lot of the ball but did not create much with it. It was an illusionary domination. It was a disappointing performance on our side.

on the reasons for the defeat…
I felt we lacked a bit of sharpness. We tried to get into the game after 20 minutes. But we missed what makes the success at the top level - that is complete focus. And they were sharper than us.

Wenger is a wanker. FACT.
"I felt we lacked a bit of sharpness" a bit? A fucking bit? :suicide: Chelsea didn't. Utd didn't. Christ alive :suicide:

Rent-a-quote bullshit from a redundant (sadly not literally) dinosaur.

"It was an illusionary domination"

thats Wenger/AKB speak for "We played tippy tappy shyte football in front of their defence, couldn't break down a team set up to keep their shape and defend well. We dont have a decent striker, a decent 'keeper or defensive mid but hey ho forget that I'll keep pocketing my extoetionate pay-packet for losing and you guys keep paying the highest prices in world footie to watch it. "

Gobsmacked by this quote. The old duffer has set us up to play this way for 7 or so seasons and yet seems completely oblivious to how cuntingly ineffective it is.

Please, please, please just for once try to set us up to play like we did in the early part of your reign. There's no shame in a fast, direct counter-attacking style. You know, the type that used to win us trophies?

I think it's a good one, actually. Summed it up perfectly.

Could make an entry into the top 3 Wengerballs comments alongside "the two transfer markets" and "in this country captaincy is overplayed"

That last one really fucking irks me - I looked around at that wet pitch, 0-1 down against a shit club, looking for a Tony Adams and what did I find in his place......a bloke 3 inches taller who wouldn't lift his head off a pillow let alone nail a centre forward and clear the thing up field

What a terrible performance. Where was the team that played against Wham ? They had a few leaders and showed plenty of fight.
Santos gave the ball away way too much.
Midfield did not penetrate in any way, even Arteta was giving the ball away :banghead:
Pod was off form and a commentator mentioned he was carrying an ankle injury the last few weeks ??
Was hoping Mannone would be dropped at half time.
Nothing went right for Giroud today and while he tried his touch was even letting him down.
Best player for us was Jenks.
Best move we had was Ox's 20 yard run   (hope its not too serious)

After thinking they were beginning to gel as a team they then turn in a performance with no urgency or fight. Passing was way too slow and even Cazorla looked ordinary.

But for who Vinny ??

This is the fucking mess that the Self Harmer has us in. We've supposedly got a big and competitive squad with world class players that are unable to get a game.....well that's the party line

The official line is that in goal we have a promising young lad with an ego and mouth the size of a house (who is injured) backed up by Vito (a player so shit Barnsley wanted his loan to end early) and Flappyhandksi (truly the worst keeper I have seen in 30 years+ of watching AFC)

At the back we have the world's tallest non-jumping centre half, a bloated left winger deputising at left back when he'd rather be at Mardi Gras, a one-paced Welshman with an ability to find an opponent at will playing 40 games a season, and a hod carrier from France who was loaned out to a 3rd division side 3-4 years ago as our one and only centre forward

We've got 15 midfielders if that's what he means by a big squad

Limp at the back, too much foreplay in midfield and no money shots up front.

Martinez was on the bench so throw him in.
To be honest the remark was tongue in cheek but something needs to happen. I understand keepers need confidence but some of them may need a kick up the arse and be told its just not good enough. In fact I would take that whole team today and tell them all it just wasn't good enough.

The goalkeeping position is one that has been ignored since Lehmann left and while people are hoping Sczcesny comes back quickly I still don't think the majority are convinced that he will become top class.
I really hope we get rid of Mannone and Flappy in January and get a top keeper in and let him and Sczesny fight for the place.

Maybe the coaching needs looking at and I read recently Seaman is coaching some non league teams keepers.
Am at a loss with this position to be honest as I can understand with outfield players and allowing them to mature into their roles but , to me, you don't fuck around with the goalkeepers position like Wenger has done. It gives confidence throughout the team and particularily the defence.

I wont hold my breath for January though

Dont worry the players are thinking about you and the other fans who paid their hard earned money to travel to watch that pile of shite in their million pound houses this evening.
