Give the bastard someone else up front to form a partnership with and perhaps he may improve, becasue on his own up front he looks gash. Oh, sorry, that would mean altering our world-beating 4-5-4/4-3-3 whatever-the-fuck-it-is bollocks.DarylAFC wrote:Getting worried about him now. Yesterday he was so off.
Time is ticin or him but I hope to god he can play like he did against W Ham and Spain every week. The only grain of comfort about his performance yesterday was that he wasn't the only one off form.
Used to watch a lot of France but haven't since Deschamps took over, perhaps they play to Giroud's strengths? Perhaps they have the calibre of player providing service that isn't Ramsey too.green gooner wrote:It's hard to imagine this is the same Giroud that grabbed all the headlines last week for halting Spain;s blitz in world football. I for one had held the (false) hope that his goal would act as the tap to open the floodgate of goals for Arsenal.
Giroud was only on the pitch for four minutes and scored at the death! High ball swung into the box and he headed an unstopable goal.officepest wrote:Used to watch a lot of France but haven't since Deschamps took over, perhaps they play to Giroud's strengths? Hahaha well played sir! Often these attempts at changing lyrics dont work so well but that's pretty damn good!SteveO 35 wrote:I know it won't go down well with the 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' brigade but I was feeling in a little sing song mood this afternoon, so put on your earphones and have a little sing-along

Giroud, you’re really bad.
Take a through ball, past that defender.
Remember, when he gives you a head start
Then you can start, to finish better.
Giroud, now I’m afraid
You were made to, make us much better
The minute you let it bounce off your shin,
Then we all think, Chapman was better
And anytime you feel like playin’, Giroud refrain,
Don’t carry that hod, upon your shoulders.
For well you know you looked a fool, at Liver-pool
By making Chamakh, look that much bolder
Giroud, don’t take us down.
You have found Per, can finish better
Remember we loaned out our Ju-Young Park,
But you’re shit start, makes him look better.
We’ve left you out then put you in, Giroud, begin,
You wait for the League Cup to perform in.
And don't you know that in League Two, Giroud, you'll do,
The movement you show’s of one much older
Giroud, don't take it bad.
Cos we sold Song to pay you better.
Remember when we are fifteen months in,
Then you'll begin “to adapt”
Better better better better better better, oh.
Na na na na na ,na na na, Giroud
So why would Wenger buy a striker who needs a partner when for 2 years or more he has continually played with a lone forward player ?Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:Giroud was no worse than anyone else on Saturday - he makes some great run to be fair - but he had no service whatsoever.
He clearly plays better with a partner, so coupled with an adaption to a new system - its tought for him. Point the finger at the likes of Gervinho and Ramsey - no excuses.

Having said that a top quality striker will adapt no matter what league he is in - Giroud hasn't got the pace, first touch or natural finishing ability to make it. We talk about this 'adaption period' that Wenger goes on about but funny how players like Torres took to the PL like a duck to water. If we'd have spent £20-£25m on the likes of Benzema we wouldn't even be discussing adaption periods. But because we invest in substandard dross like Park, Chamakh and Giroud we hold it up as a discussion point. No doubt people will make the lazy comparison to Bergkamp but if anyway seriously believes that's a valid comparison they need their heads examining.
Fair enough if people want to convince themselves that all this bloke needs is time, but I look at Chamakh 2 years on and Bendtner 4-5 years on, and you can give them 10 years and they'll still never, ever be good enough
Disagree with that - Chamakh in his first few months worked hard for the team when the Judas was out and linked the play up better than I've seen Giroud even manage against Coventry. I'm not one of these to get swayed by simply goals either, so I can excuse the bloke missing the odd chance and wasn't expecting 20-30 goals etc. What I do expect is when we play shit like Coventry and Norwich, that the guy shows heart, physical presence and works selflessly for the team. I saw none of that. I would also argue that Bendtner has had times when he's shown the attributes you mention. Giroud is wandering around like a lost sheep feeling sorry for himself and f++k knows why because the welcome and reception he has been afforded by the fans has been fantastic.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:So why would Wenger buy a striker who needs a partner when for 2 years or more he has continually played with a lone forward player ?Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:Giroud was no worse than anyone else on Saturday - he makes some great run to be fair - but he had no service whatsoever.

Giroud has done enough to warrant an extended run in the team - his runs create space for others, he links well, holds the ball up well - Chamakh, Bendtner could do none of these things
