Never again

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Never again

Post by SurreyGooner »

Am I going to the bowl, what an utter waste of my fucking hard earned money, one of the worst performances i've seen. Embarrassing atmosphere people look at you strangely when you try to get something going when all they're doing is videoing the away fans. Almost everyone around me were Asian and everyone was laughing when those c**ts were singing scum songs :banghead: . I'ts bad that it's got to this stage, sticking to away games now, not giving the club any more of my money. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Wasnt at the game like you- gave up spending my hard earned a while back but the atmosphere sounded so flat tonight on the TV it was embarrassing. All you could hear was the Schalke fans all game.

It feels like our core support has been eroded away and the Arsenal is nothing more than a tourist attraction than a passion.

I dont blame you for reaching breaking point, its just a sickening situation and it feels like its only going to get worse unless something is done quickly

I was in block 4 surrounded by old & disabled people who looked so totally disinterested in the game. I said to my mate "look around, try to spot someone under 40. No wonder our atmosphere is so shit." Get the young guys together, those who want to make noise & get these geriatrics all together in one place where they can doze off together.

Atmosphere-wise Schalke weren't a patch on Dortmund but they put us to shame, once again.

Pointless protest in my opinion ,the Club don't give a flying fuck if you go or not .
They know that the tourist fans will spend more in the shop and the bar than the English and they will always be able to fill the ground with tourists due to London's popularity.
Tourists are easily pushed around by stewards are and unlikely to boo the team then they fail to deliver ............again and again !
Don't u just love those we don't sign superstars we make them t shirts !

Well done mate, another convert.

If everyone stuck to the 'what's the point, because someone else will go instead' bullshit then nothing will ever got done. Far more effective than planting some pre-arranged question in the Q&A section of the AGM

In my opinion one of the reasons the atmosphere is so poor at times, is due to the performance on the pitch.

There have been games (not many granted) when the atmosphere has been very good.

When Arsenal serve up a performance like last night, no passion or desire, no player that can grab a game by the neck, pass pass pass, square balls, no attaempts at goal, then it just kills the atmosphere and for me is boring to watch.

I gave my season ticket to someone last night, but if i was there i would of left at halftime and gone for a drink.

Not sure that is true. You only have to look at how much longer it takes to sell out games and the actual attendances at matches - include big ones - over the past couple of season to see that the club are not selling on those tickets to others as easily. This isn't the same stampede to go an see the club that there was even as recently as 3 or 4 years ago, so I don't buy into the 'if I don't renew, someone else will buy it and the club will get their money anyway' excuse. It applies if only a few people participate in a boycott but if thousands decided not to give the club their money upfront, they'd notice alright!!

In about 5-10 yrs time, working class fans will be non-existent at Emirates. I'm starting to believe thats delibarate club policy.

Arsenal - club of the rich, for the rich, by the rich.

Me too mate. Aways only for me this season and until Wenger goes.
Bit of a moral dilema though when it comes to buying my deferred season ticket next year. :(
Genuinely wont know what to do.

Was at the back of 25 last year v chelsea and the atmosphere was shite, plus impossible to get tickets in blocks 5/6 unless it's the league cup. £51 was bad enough last year for cat A £62 now they can go fuck themselves.
