Help me name my Arsenal Pub
Re: Help me name my Arsenal Pub
Just a couple of bits advice for your venture as well. Firstly, its always helpful to run an employee of the month scheme with a suitable incentive reward - say £50k per week guaranteed for 5 years. However, keep the employee of the decade award for yourself as manager regardless of your results
In terms of the 'customer is always right' principle......I think that works to an extent but if any of them overstep the line and have a moan about the quality of the beer then simply tell them that you've worked in the pub industry for 30 years whilst they haven't worked in the industry for a day. That's always guaranteed to put them in their place and keep them coming back for more

The following beer is banned in The Self-Sustainable Inn

If any customers complain get the old fart to increase rate of spittage. Also remind your customers that you could be running a bar in Spain for much more money.

Its clear that the big advantage in this new establishment will be the unswerving loyalty of the clientele. You can try serving them half a pint in a pint glass - naturally charge the price of a full pint to reflect the size of the glass. Most will tolerate this because of the financial constraints the business is working under, despite the huge profits.
Real drinkers have patience you see and will see the glass as half full not half empty. Unlike the ungrateful mob who have forgotten that before 1996 they were only ever served warm piss and had to drink it standing up. They're the miserable bunch you see over in the corner. The same lot.

Sometimes its difficult to get momentum going in a new enterprise but you should stick to the same managerial plan day in, day out. Don't allow any of your staff to attempt to change your mind. Perhaps if nothing much has happened in the first 70 minutes after you open the doors, try a little window dressing for a change but nothing more than that
Also, if after 2 or 3 years the business is really going well and it looks like you've nearly fulfilled your ambitions, then let your best bar staff leave and change around the entire personnel. Its only fair to let them go and work for one of the big chains after all.

The Tippy Tappy?
Re: Help me name my Arsenal Pub
Make sure that the pub has also got planning consent in place to be turned into some nice new apartments - that way you can just forget about the business and get bought out by a wealthy American

Re: Help me name my Arsenal Pub
Its in Denmark so the " Faxe Inn" could be a name and Outside you could have a picture of the great man himself scoring against QPR outside to differentiate from the Beer of the same name !

Apparently that beer guested 7 years ago after which it developed a sour taste and was unpopular with American toursists. The brewers have been working on a new brew 'Virtual Trophy' which they hope will prove more popular

Is the bar in Copenhagen? If so you should try and stand out from all the other bars therenorthbank123 wrote:In honour of Nicky B you could call it the "Best Par in Europe and keep asserting that in the face of all reason whilst selling piss-poor lager at 8 Euros a pint.

Best of luck with the venture Jasper

I will be visiting. But I think "The Slaughtered Bastard" would be a better name. No idea why, just do...

A piece of advice; let local whores drink there for free. It will bring the male punters in in droves. It is one of God's rules that drunk men like whores.
