TONIGHTS FOOTBALL

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Surprised Fletcher is playing.

Was pretty sure he would be a shoe in to play against us, maybe he still will.

You mean Mister "Anti-Football". Just one of the cringeworthy comments from Wenger after being rolled over by the Mancs.

Hard to disagree with Wenger though as he has been sent out just to kick us off the pitch too many times.

Not a patch on the fucking Neville brothers against Reyes mate. That was the worst case of deliberate intimidation of one of our players I've seen (apart from when scum wanker Graham Roberts put Charlie Nicholas through the advertising boards at THOF). Never really thought Fletcher was that bad

Fletcher isn't the same nature as the Reyes travesty. The Nevilles went out to literally kick him out of the game and it was nothing short of intended thuggery. Fletcher just commits niggly foul after foul after foul without getting booked, it's a cynical ploy aimed at preventing the game from getting any rhythm and it's once that's only facilitated by referees being paralysed by fear at Old Trafford.

I understand what Wenger said because it's so fucking frustrating that Fletcher is repeatedly given a carte blanche to commit foul after foul for 90 minutes without any repercussion at all. Whenever we've gone up there with an equal or superior team United always just kick us off the park and get away with it. But it's just a typically whiny statement to call him "anti-football" and one that's going to win AW nothing but detractors.

Chelsea 45 minutes away from losing 3 in a row. I'm sure gunner_ace and Surrey Gooner are a bit upset but for the rest of us we could paste this in the Reasons To Be Cheerful thread :barscarf:

Yeah I agree NB and SteveO.
What the Neville bros did to Reyes was disgusting. Fletcher breaks up the game by comitting foul after foul and he has been let get away with it.
Pity we have not had someone for some time now to do the same

We'd never get away with it mate. Song gave away endless petty fouls but playing for us instead of Man U he would always get booked. He's still the same clumsy fucker he was last season but watch how his booking rate will drop dramatically now he's playing for Spain's answer to ManUre. I bet the fucker is getting away with murder now

To be fair Song used to get away with murder at times, not to the same extent but even more amazing because there was no subtlety or intelligence behind his fouls, they were just compensating for his indiscipline and poor judgement.

Very surprised AVB has started not far off full teams in Europa League and League Cup games so far. They just haven't got the strength in depth to compete on all fronts and I can only hope that Bale will break down with an injury as a result.

The Murderers are losing 0-1 to Swansea too.

Could be the League Cup week of all weeks at this rate. No Chavs, No Murderers......just need Norwich to upset the Paperboy's Spuds and its all gone to plan
