Drama queen

We'll be battling it out for our 4th place trophy with the likes of Liverpool, Sp*rs and Everton, as per usual. West Brom will be nowhere near by May... so let them put 7 past Southampton if they want. It'll make no difference.
Who are this Everton that you mention? You mean the ones with no money to spend and with the manager who would never be good enough to manage Arsenal. Surely we're not competing with them are we ?

Maybe, maybe not. We've always finished above Everton in the past, and we've always (well, for at least 15 years) finished top 4 so lets not get carried away after 10 games.

I still reckon it'll be us or Sp*rs who claim 4th, with the other finishing 5th. Clearly that's not good enough, but I genuinely think many people are over-hyping Everton and going OTT on how bad we are just because they're angry.

We're on an awful run of form, but I still think we've got enough to see off Everton... and your flavour of the month, West Brom    (I know it's tongue in cheek btw)

I doubt many genuinely think we'll finish below Everton this season, but then again, maybe they do.

Anyway, come May, I reckon it'll be the same old shite of closing in on our 4th place trophy. Our league campaigns have been boring and predictable for years now; there will be bad form, then good form, then bad... good... bad... finish 4th :| - we've stagnated, and it stinks. I know this glorious ( ) record can't last forever, but I doubt Everton will take it from us... Sp*rs will... but maybe not this season. Not sure yet.

I'll tell you what I genuinely feel about this g88ner. West Brom have got no chance of finishing above us - we both know that, but adding a little levity to proceedings and claiming they are our rivals for a Europa League spot helps me to soften the blow. This forum and having a laugh and a pisstake generally helps to do that. Having said that Steve Clarke has received enormous praise from his former clubs as a coach so I'm interested to see how he develops as a manager.

Everton are a different kettle of fish altogether. They will need some luck with injuries, but I genuinely believe they will be top four contenders deep into the season much like Newcastle were last season. I think they are better than Newcastle were and they have spent a few years just outside the CL spots, mostly because they've been dreadful for the first 10 games or so. That isn't the case this time round. Lets be honest, they shouldn't compete with us. Last Summer we took their captain and if we wanted to could have taken Jagielka too - but the manager has got them playing and I would argue that in certain positions they are better than us - goalkeeper, left back, centre back and centre forward. Jelavic or Giroud? Baines or Santos/Gibbs? To me they look like a side inspired by their manager, playing for their manager. I don't particularly like Neville, Jagielka or Osman, but I do like the way they roll up their sleeves and play with the heart - people sneer at those qualities these days but even the very best teams have players prepared to do that. The Chavs would never have won the CL without those qualities, and City got over the line last year as much down to the dogged efforts of Kompany as the flair of Aguero.

I think it will be a three horse race between us, Spuds and Everton for the Virtual Trophy.

Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle

What a cracking run and assist from Ben Arfa - this lad is the perfect replacement for Walcott if he leaves.

Still how would he get ahead of some of our first choice wingers like Podolski, Ramsey, Diaby and when he returns Bendtner

Glad you're watchin this game...notice how Sterling didn't get booked for a challenge worse or as bad as Jack's first challenge in yesterday's game. Jack's challenge was in the first 5mins of the game btw 2 fierce rivals(at least the fans still are). The decent thing for the ref to do yesterday would've been a severe telling off. Instead he chose to book him.

JW10 dived in a bit from behind, maybe a little bit harsh that early in the game but probably a yellow card tackle. Problem was Cleverley's was much worse and had the added element of being 30 yards out from goal when he'd just been skinned and the ref ignored that.

We won't sign ben Arfa because Newcastle would rightly expect a reasonable fee for him and undoubtedly Wenger would think that was a sign of the crazy market. Remember this man thought £5m was a reasonable amount to offer for Mikel Arteta out of the blue with no compulsion on Everton to sell.

Nothing would make me happier than West Brom finishing ahead of us this season.

As long as they don't finish 3rd and we finish 4th
