Reasons to be cheerful

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger joined a team that had Bergkamp and the greatest defence. Wenger has always been amazing at getting brilliant midfielders. Our current team has one of the best midfields in the league.
Sadly Giroud, Ramsey and Podolski is the worst front 3 of his reign and the worst since the early 80s. If you add Santos as another shocking defender then you realise we are finished for now

Im not convinced the midfield is as good as its cracked up to be but that aside there is no point belittling what Wenger achieved at Arsenal even if he did inherit the spine of a good team. He made those players better and added some amazing inspirational players too and made one of the best teams to ever be seen in England. The sad fact is he's past his sell by date and its time for change throughout the club starting with the board but also including the manager.

Comparisons with Brian Clough spring to mind.

I think by knocking his achievements with us takes away a lot of your arguments now :|

This quote from Eddie may not be a reason to be too cheerful but certainly made me laugh.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... -Tottenham

Brazilian playmaker Willian is one of the hottest properties in football and has been linked with moves to both Chelsea and Tottenham in recent months.

However, Eduardo, who spent three years with Arsenal, believes Spurs are not good enough for the 24-year-old.

"There are three clubs who are big enough and good enough for Willian - Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea," he said.

"I have recommended these clubs - no others. He needs to play at one of the best teams.

"Willian is a complete player now. He is ready to play for a big club and become a really big player.

"He should play at a top, top club because he is a class player. He can play in England, for sure.

"We always talk and watch Premier League games together.

"He asks me about England and the English game and I tell him little things."

Shakhtar travel to London to take on Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday and Eduardo admits scoring at Stamford Bridge would be extra special.

"I am a Shakhtar player and an Arsenal fan," he added. "I know if I score against Chelsea the Arsenal fans will be very pleased."

Yes I know he says join us or the chavs but the highlighted bits are hilarious. Before the usual bunch say "how far we've fallen laughing at spurs...blah blah blah", Saturday was awful and put a real f'ing downer on the week especially as Schalke are going to bum us rightly and royally tomorrow...so read the title of the thread and p*ss of to the many other anti-everything threads
