As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Christ this is getting boring. When was the last time you heard gas chamber hissing at a football ground? I know these little pressure groups need to constantly justify their own existence but this is getting silly. The more time spent going after trivial shit like this the more cynical people become about the fight against proper racism.
Still, more Tottenham fans being arrested is a not too shabby silver lining
Double standards are silly, but then again when Terry gets 4 games for racism and Suarez gets 8 how much can you really take the debate seriously?
As long as racism persists in society, it will persist in football - a sad but true fact. I think the only way to get over racism is to stop paying so much attention to those ignorant enough to be racist in this day and age and just get on with things.
Kicking up a fuss where there isn't one. So Suarez and Terry are two of the biggest wankers to ever play the game and because they got caught out suddenly football is hugely racist again? It's a fucking embarrassment that this Society of Black Lawyers or whatever prick is wading in and threatening to complain to the police about Spurs fans. It's ridiculous frankly, it's spearheaded by pricks like Jason Roberts who are only interested in carving out media profiles for themselves. Bringing in any sort of quota regarding managers, players or refs or whatever would be so so so wrong and counter-productive.
The issue has been discussed in great depth on here before.
As a Jewish fan I would rather the word is not used because some fans from other clubs do use it as an anti-Semitic term of abuse, and it does upset some Jewish fans.
But most or probably all Spurs fans, Jewish or not Jewish, use it as a term of Spurs identity with no ethnic concerns at all.
It is a genuine word, in use by Central and East European Jews since hundreds of years ago and it simply means a Jew who tries to keep the fundamentals of the religion.
Anyway, whilst I genuinely appreciate the concerns of the society of Black Lawyers, I think their heart is in the right place but their attention could better be focused elsewhere.
Anyway LBD, there sadly continue to be Holocaust chants at Arsenal, last time I heard them was last season but on the tube on the way to a game. But it was debatable as to whether the perpetrators were Arsenal fans as they seemed lost trying to get to the ground from Kings Cross station, which I would consider very abnormal for fans of ours.

Brave post. My view is racist abuse is deemed to be the only important issue in football which it isn't! Why aren't we diverting similar time and effort into stopping cheating/diving in the game or players snapping a fellow professionals legs in half? Call someone a racist name, 8 game ban, smash someone's leg to bits and its 3...
Lets tackle all the problems that blight the game at the moment.
