Seriously? Ahmed Jaabari?cusamano wrote:RIP Ahmed Jaabari
Ahmed Said Khalil al Jaabari (1960 – 14 November 2012) (sometimes written as Jabari or Ja'bari or Ja'abari) was a Palestinian political activist, terrorist, and the second-in-command of the military wing of Hamas. He was credited as the leader in the takeover of the Gaza Strip by Hamas, leading the firing of Qassam rockets into Israel and played a role in the capture of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet conducted a targeted air strike on 14 November 2012, a part of Operation Pillar of Cloud, killing Jaabari and his son while they were travelling in a car. Jaabari was the highest-level Hamas official killed in Gaza since Israel's offensive in 2008
Are you on the wind up? or do you simply copy and paste anyone into this thread just to boost the post count?

I thought the RIP thread was supposed to be a tribute to people who meant something to us...?

I just think it's a strange choice, that's all. I'd like to think it's proof that he copy and paste's any random person into the thread to keep up the quota for the [tired] "in joke" rather than genuine affection and sadness for the death of that man.

I was also made to raise an eyebrow by seeing the Hamas man's name, but I think the thread long ago ceased to be a place where we could mark the passing of people who had a special resonance for us, and became a list of people of some fame or infamy who have died.
The next step is that it is auto updated by the government with the names of everyone who dies in the UK!
Genuinely I was moved to mark the passing of Ms Melodie, but others regarded it as a joke.
We have now had terrorists, criminal murderers, Peruvian architects, Mongolian welders, Lesothan acrobats and last but not least, Hashkad's on-off (more off than on so they say) bit on the side for the last few years, the legendary Bishop of Gaylord!
