If you think Wenger should leave or be sacked you're WOB......
If you dont you're AKB.

Now I dont mind being called WOB but it seems theres AKB's who dont like being called AKB. In fact I've yet to meet an AKB who admits it. They always say......."I'm not an AKB but.........."

Now I know theres those who may say.."I know Wenger isn't perfect. Not good with tactics. Defence. Plan B, etc etc , I recognise these failings so therefore I am not an AKB"
Well yes, literally you know that Arsene doesn't always "know" but in my opinion you're still an "AKB" if you want him to stay.

Now dont get me wrong. I disagree with the AKB and their opinions but I'll fight to the death for their right to have those beliefs.

OK - carry on........ 8)
I don't know whether it is as simple as people being on one side of the fence or the other. There are many things I don't like about Wenger. Tactical awareness, stubborness (which has cost us at least one title)..... But I still believe that he is one of the best Manager's around. Would I prefer AVB, Mancini or Rafa? Er, no. Would I prefer Ferguson, Mourinho or Guardiola? Maybe - and a definite maybe - but we're not going to get them anyway!

To qualify for the CL 13 years in a row is - like it or not - a massive achievement. To then qualify to the knock out stage every one of those years is more massive still! The guy must be doing something right. Lets face it, in some of those seasons we've looked at the threadbare squad (and I think that our current squad is the strongest in years!) in August and truly believed that we would struggle to stay up. And yet by May we have another top 4 - and even the odd challenge for the title.

The trouble is with Arsenal and Wenger is that the Board have given him too much responsibility. In the early days he said he wanted Sol, and Dein said I'll go and get him. Job done. Nowadays nothing happens at the club without Wenger's approval - and that is too much for one man. If Gazidis did his job, if we started spending some of the war chest, then yes, I believe that Wenger is still the best man for the job. Not perfect, just the best.
Thanks MK - you've just proved my point

What point? You know some imaginary flawless manager...?
Wenger is amazing at finding players and making them World Class.
Football is ultimately about players, its a pretty key skill, especially if your budget is limited.

Then maybe the club should give him the role of full time" youth ambassador" and he can search the globe, use his contacts in Africa / Europe to get us the most promising youngsters and leave the Arsenal manager job to somebody who can motivate the players, correct the team imbalance, alter tactics as the game requires and concentrate on the first team

Reason Wenger have consistently transformed players careers,
realising potential into World Class quality, is because of his willingness to put potential in the first team
his belief makes players believe

World class quality ?? When was the last one he discovered ? Cesc had been in the team for 5 or 6 years before he left and rvp longer than that so who was the last player he turned into world class ? Another flaw to the pro wenger argument......he steals players from other clubs acadamies and takes all the credit for their sudden emergance into world class

and I don't believe you could really believe that.
Obviously I post what I believe.

I tried to start a thread about Wengers strengths - nobody here would accept any whatsoever
The central argument I'm fighting here is I believe Wenger has talent (flaws too of course)
the counter argument seems to be he doesn't possess ANY ABILITY WHATSOEVER
seems many here can't accept any strengths, believe he's 100% useless,
its a deeply stupid argument,
Claiming Wenger is totally without merit is talkshite phone in level nonsense,
its an internet rant, want-it-now mummy, manchild tantrum attitude, a clouded reality.

Always coming 4th trophy might only be virtual,
and getting out the CL groups 13 times isnt winning it
Calling it nothing is insane.
Claiming it can be done by somebody with no managerial skill is straight nuts.

if leProf really has no managerial ability at all - this run represents one of the biggest statistical anomalies in history
getting into the CL then through the groups is harder than tossing tails
you aint doing that 13 times on the spin

I follow some foriegn sports teams - like to see the Knicks in NooYoik
been to Madison Square Garden lots of times.
Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable slating the team to a NewYorker who loved them. Who felt they represented him.
Not to do with them being crowned superfan, I just wouldn't feel sufficiently entitled.
Doesn't mean one persons opinion on the match is more important or accurate - sports breed a million opinions
sometimes a more neutral eye analyses better.

Whilst there seems to be a consensus on here, that our greatest ever manager can't manage
that he has no particular stand out coaching or managerial skills,
you will struggle to get positive posters to post here and debate with you
because its a moronic attitude.

If you want fundamentalist WOB board, advertise it as such.
Rather than dismissing those who post mainstream, middle of the road - positive opinions as attempting to wind people up.

Highbury JD,

Not sure the 'counter argument' was that Wenger had no strengths at all. Only that what were once considered his 'strengths' have dissipated almost Samson-esque style post the biblical character's visit to Delilah's famous Hair-Dressing Salon!!

Wasting your time, Hlebby. SuperfanJD whines on about decent debate but then only picks out the extreme minority of stuff to comment on. But then he IS MORE ENTITLED to do that because you weren't born in, raised in, and don't live in Islington, do ya, Hlebby?
