Swansea game thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A win today, as someone already mentioned (Jd?) a win similar to the Montpellier game. Swansea played well the other night but I think they'll lose their nerve playing at ours and we'll have just enough to take advantage.

Then on we go to our vital game in Greece for the 2nd year running!

I can see this being a tough one, another predictable draw but hopefully a win for the Swans as every loss from here on in is a step closer to the fascist money dictator being moved upstairs.

Players out with the same old pathetic injuries (viruses, strains).... it's all so predictable and boring these days......

I want change too but come the game I always want us to win, it's in the blood :barscarf:

Groundhog Day

Swansea to score first, then fifty thousand passes sideways, fifty thousand passes backwards, trying to tippy tap past 11 Swansea players defending, chasing (at walking pace) game, 70th minute subs Klingon head and Fat Russian, and if lucky score in 89th minute.

1-1

Hopefully I'm wrong and we win 3-0 with fast attacking football

The answer to your query there is simply that they're a bloody poor Arsenal "supporter" when all's said and done.

Swansea are one team you'd back us to do well against right now, they won't do a Stoke or Sunderland on us and actually come out to play.

With Kos out for three weeks put your money on Vermaelen or Gibbs or both to be injured...reintroduce us to the delights of Djourou or Santos or both...

This is a team that can out-football us today, they were very impressive in the first half against a previously impressive WBA..Not confident today...Arsene's script-writers will be busy today. "Will we go with handbrake or physically jaded ?"

You mean like last season when a fumble by their (usually top notch ) goalie allowed us to sneak a 1 - nil win!? :rubchin:

Pathetic to hear alleged Gooners wanting us to lose
shameful, my prediction was we would grind it out
Swansea are a good side, let's hope we can do even better than that
let's hope Jack Wilshere can keep developing toward his world class potential
our midfield can knit together better as a group and Tets + Santi can return to scintillating early season form

Think this sort of backs up Augie's point though. We were dreadful that day and they deserved at least a point but they didn't have the bottle. Sinclair and Dyer were getting the ball in great positions with loads of space but they just kept freezing, slowing the play down and making the wrong decisions.

Sadly this is what the current incarnation of Arsenal has driven me to. I've followed Arsenal for over 25 years, planned my life around Arsenal, not attended family events because of Arsenal, left family events early because of Arsenal, travelled for hours on buses in foreign countries to see the Arsenal..... and now I'm driven to absolute apathy by what Arsenal have become.

The only way I can forsee a way out of the current mess is failure to win the 4th spot trophy. Wins here and there such as beating Swansea just paper over the cracks and keep the masses happy and the dictator in control.... just like the Spurs win.

Had a moment of clarity in the shower last night (when I do my best thinking.....)

Would RvP and Cesc have left if for example Guardiola was managing the team? RvP an Arsenal man of 10 years didn't leave for the love of another club or for more money he left because he knows (like we all do that deep down) that under Wenger are going backwards.

So in my opinion losing today wouldn't be such a bad thing in the bigger picture. Besides do you remember when losing really hurt? Now...... nothing surprises me or particularly bothers me to be honest and it won't do until we get our Arsenal back.

Gervinho is rumored to be starting up front today.

Arsene Knows Best. :barscarf:

I have had so much stick on here for wanting us to lose recent games, but I am sure it will come to the point where I am in the majority, as @RobAdmin has made me realise.

vanStaplec*nt didn't leave for money???!?!?
of course he did, he's a lying scumbag, who made lying scumbags of his wife and parents
little boy inside indeed, the sight of him makes me sick
next time he's thinking about his life in the shower I hope his cock falls of and goes down the plughole

I'm assuming your bizarre masochistic selfharm psycho BS is a temporary episode
so I won't wish a washing the willy off incident on you

but clearly you need to man up (or have a little cry, not sure which)
and support your team properly

ARSENAL ARSENAL ARSENAL!!!!

Ok he took a pay increase but had we offered him less with realistic chances of winning something I think the Arsenal in him would have seen him stay. But the reality of what Arsenal had to offer drove him to sign for those wankers. That's how bad things have become IMO.

Sadly supporting Arsenal now means supporting Wenger, Gazedis and Kronke, and I just can't bring myself to do.

Oh and Gerviniho of course :banghead:

until we get our Arsenal back

Hi Rob
Tony Adams gave a great response to this last week prior to the Villa game or was it the Everton game on Sky :?: :?

What Arsenal do they want back ? The Arsenal of the mid 70's. The Arsenal of the mid eighties ? or the Arsenal under Wenger and he was actually laughing at the phrase. Apparently the Chelsea fans are now singing ''We want our Chelsea back'' which I thought really ironic.

Just wondering what people who sing 'We want our Arsenal back'' actually want.
What Arsenal do they actually want back ?
