Olympiacos cl game thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bang on with any luck.

If he can't motivate our pampered pussies at home v Swansea, what chance away in Greece in a match that they don't need to win (or even turn up to)

Half arsed 3-1 defeat.

3-1 to Olympiakos. It'll be too noisy and scary for our boys.

We will take a little bit the handbrake off and all will be rosy in the Wenger jardín.

Could really struggle here.

Wenger has just said the Swansea result has changed his plans, as some players are on the edge physically and need a rest.

Then again, first team or reserves... we're struggling week in, week out whoever plays

Potentially looking at a forward line of

---Gervinho----Chamakh-----Santos

Now if that isn't top, top, top, super quality with great mental strength, I don't know what is!

Honestly - who gives a fucking shit about this game? top of the group or second, we'll still get knocked out in the last sixteen.

As we are through I don't really care . Interesting how Wenger has come out today and said we must stick together . Possibly this match will mean more to him than normal because a hefty defeat will make the situation worse and will start to escalate .

Just what we need to lift the mood - a CL group game almost 3 months after the first one and likely to be about as entertaining as watching paint dry

Thankfully it's the company Xmas party so I'll be spared the whole sorry bore

This is a very important game and I expect the full squad to be involved. We need them to be "physically jaded" and "mentally fatigued" as they will form the basis of the excuses after the WBA defeat.

Yes, and he needs to use that excuse as often as possible between now and May because next season we'll only have the youth players playing on a Thursday night or no European football whatsoever. When we get trounced by Man United next season after they've been playing twice a week, I wonder if it'll be back to moaning about officials, poor pitches, the international break and 'special circumstances'

Don't have much interest in this game. Unlikely that schalke will slip up against montpellier anyway so not worth risking our jaded first team..... But I still don't get those who would want us to lose, whatever the reason..... Can't even remember feeling like that in the last days of terry neil....!

Besides, there will be several hundred gooners going to this so I'd want us to do well if only for their sake!
