I'd rather listen to his bollocks than the board's bollocks which Wenger is only too happy to spout.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
Yes, Yes and Yes.... I'd knock one out if Wenger got the sack or just fucked off and knock another out if Mourinho got the job (although it'll have to be a week later)!!

Why does it have to be one or the other ?

Btw I do find it amusing that in the midst of all the honours being accredited to moaninho, nobody has questioned why he never won the big eared cup with the chavs

Well he only had three attempts trying and might have won twice: firstly the year that Liverpool got a dodgy goal at Anfield in his first season (2004/5) and when on to win it themselves. They also lost another semi-final to the same side in 2007 only on penalties.
Seriously augie, as far as this debate is concerned you're not arguing with anything like the same reasoning, thoughtfulness and intelligence that you normally do, even when on the 'wrong side' of the issue.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
It doesn't, and tbf I'm normally the first to jump on somebody using Wenger as a benchmark because it's pointless, but people attacking his character weren't mentioning the current media embarrassment we're subjected to every week. No disrespect for Moyes and I think he's certainly earned a crack at a better job but we're hardly "underselling" ourselves by instead going for one of the best and most vibrant managers in the game (if not the) and has been for the last decade. For me the baggage is completely outweighed: Mourinho wouldn't stand for the shit we have now, he wouldn't let players coast, he wouldn't let us stand still, he wouldn't make constant excuses for the players and he wouldn't happily fly the board's flag when it clearly conflicts with the interests of the team, for me that would bring back more than enough pride to put up with his on-camera theatrics. Oh, and he's a winner. He doesn't accept second best. Again, using Moyes as a comparison because imo he's the most likely appointment, is he a proven winner? Yeah he's done a great job at Everton but they've lost an FA Cup final, blew their CL qualification chance in the play-offs and the way they crumbled against the Mousers in last year's semi was Wenger-esque.augie wrote:northbank123 wrote:I'd rather listen to his bollocks than the board's bollocks which Wenger is only too happy to spout.
Why does it have to be one or the other ?Are we now saying that whatever happens we are always going to have some arrogant wanker as manager from this day forth ? I would like to think that we wont under sell ourselves the next time we are hiring a manager and I do believe that a club of our stature can attract a good manager that comes without all the baggage that moaninho would bring.............if that makes me wrong then so be it

Btw I do find it amusing that in the midst of all the honours being accredited to moaninho, nobody has questioned why he never won the big eared cup with the chavsHe had unlimited finances at his disposal and spent a fortune but never even got to the final with the chavs which is in stark contrast to the fortune of di matteo who won it having only been in the job a few short months and he did it with players all signed by previous managers
FFS even avram grant (the equivilent of a pub team manager) got those players to a champs league final

And his managerial record is phenomenal Augie, it's like picking holes in Ferguson's by saying well in years x, y and z he won fuck all, some manager that bloke is

I'd love any of those managers but as I see it they ain't gonna come state we'll be in when M. Wenger is finally persuaded to pack it in, so for me the alternative in this situation is Moyes, Martinez etc. Although tbh Mourinho will never come anyway so this whole debate is purely academic.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
Probably not augie and many have said they would prefer one of the other 'options' for the same reasons. Personally, I've always loved the way Mourinho spoke and took control of things from the first time I saw him having a pop at Fergie when Porto manager. He always defended his club against 'outsiders' and didn't care who he upset along the way if it led to success. Indeed, I thought from way back then that he was the perfect fit for Arsenal with his 'I don't care if people or press don't like us, as long as we win' attitude - which used to be similar to the modus operandi of Arsenal Football Club and it's fans before Wenger took over.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
Not for the first time Augie sums up my feelings.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
No from me for the same reasons. He even thinks he is bigger than Real Madrid.Chippy wrote:Looks like Moaninho is on his way out of Real.

Would you want him to replace Wenger next season?
I voted no cos I really can't stand the bloke even though he would probably bring success back to the club.
And the only way him or Guardiola would come to Arsenal would be if Usmanov had control.....

Why wouldn't Pep Guardiola come to Arsenal?
If what I've read about and from him over the past few months is anything to go by, it seems to me that we'd have the almost perfect structure and conditions for him to work in, and certainly more appealing than the Chelsea and Man City ones in terms of what he wants to do, as he'd be given more time and be under a lot less pressure to produce the goods immediately.

Re: Mourinho yes or no?
Yeah but not if we completely fall off the radar this year I don't think. The man isn't an egomaniac but is he going to risk damaging his fine reputation by coming to a club that will probably be in a downward spiral? The only thing 4th place is useful for given our dismal CL record is to attract the best manager available and allow him to attract better players. Unfortunately in Wenger's eyes it's also a huge success and grounds for staying in a job and attracting players like Park and Gervinho, so it's a paradox.I Hate Hleb wrote:Why wouldn't Pep Guardiola come to Arsenal?![]()

Plus I think we'll be stuck with Wenger until at least 2014. After all this is his first poor season ever
