Wenger is toxic. I don't want him to spend (squander) one red penny of any alleged transfer fund until he resigns in May. Wenger has again pissed me off by disputing reports of Bould laying into the players. That's EXACTLY what they need, a bit like when Adams had a quiet word with Dennis and told him it was about time he pulled his finger out.
Now if he can do it with one of the world's greatest ever players, surely someone's allowed to do it with this bunch of supper top top quality players

SteveO apparently we're 8 points worse off than we were last year at this point. We've also really limped through a CL group in second most likely whereas last year we qualified from a tougher group as winners after 5 games. Last year when we shipped in 8 (EIGHT) against United, couldn't keep a clean sheet and generally couldn't buy a win. And this year when we've signed super quality and got our transfer business done early with no 'special circumstances' in that regard, we're fucking miles worse.

Fear not, when we lift ourselves back up into the top 6 with a dodgy win over City in January then Barclay and co will be out telling us how short-sighted and greedy we are.

That's what I mean (your first sentence) - its nothing like last year. People are saying "oh we were 17th last season", err...yes after a handful of games, but at this stage of the season we had gathered enough momentum to be 4th in the table. This season we are going into a home game with West Brom with the sinking feeling that we could be EIGHT points behind them when the final whistle goes. This really is every bit as bad as 1994/95 - we are sinking and fast. We look like a midtable club even when our first team are out on the field. Last season we looked like a team with lots of new signings, starting to become more cohesive, with a world class striker hitting peak form, albeit still shit at the back.

I agree, this isn't in any way a false league position and there's nobody to blame but Wenger.

The difference to 94/95 is back then we still had the components of a quality team (bar midfield). I personally don't think we have that now: we have great quality in central midfield, and there's no guarantee that they'll be together still by the time Wenger eventually goes. Plus back then we had a Norwegian knight bearing gifts by way of brown paper envelopes to save us. I fully expect Wenger to write off one poor season and vow to turn things round next year.

The shrinks are still undecided if I will be granted day release for Chrimbo or not. If we are 8 points behind West Brom by 4.45pm Saturday afternoon you wouId be safe to assume I won't be round yours to carve up the turkey, the mother in law and both our basterding peckers as a form of protest against the Club.

so when he was winning tropheys was he petualant and not understanding defending then also. The difference is that 2 clubs who have spent 500 million pounds crashed the party. If fans don't realise that Wenger is the best pound for pound manager in the league they have problems. The long term future of this club is excellent and its due to Wengers prudence and commitment. Everything has cycles and I would like to remind people that United Chelsea City Tottenham Liverpool have all gone alot more than 7 years without winning tropheys! If you think Mouriniho could do what wenger has done on the same budget then you dream.Go and research Mourinihos spending at each of his clubs.. Also its funny at the start of the season when Arsenal were defending well it was due to Steve Bould, now we are conceeding its down to Wenger? Stupid
