The board won't sack Wenger, face it when he leaves it'll be because his ego won't be able to take the criticism from the fans any more. He's getting offered the contract extension anyway so we may as well fucking win something, it's been long enough. The board and Wenger have already made it obvious that the LC is marginally more important than the Emirates Cup in the grand scheme of things, they don't need it as an excuse to offer him a new deal when he's still adored by most and has treated this tournament with nothing but contempt for his entire reign.

I don't believe that Wenger's long term future will be influenced any way by the wining or not winning of this trophy. Arsenal PLC will only worry if and when we don't qualify for the Champions League...I want change at Arsenal ,I think that change will be only worthwhile if it starts at Wenger and works it's way up. But that cannot mean that I don't want to see Arsenal win a trophy, and again I think this is our only hope. Anyway I am 50 next year and want the year marked with some silverware.
There is no way that Arsenal fans should be deluded by any success in this competition, certainly not in the way that the Victims were last season. I know some would see a triumph as vindication of Wenger but I wouldn't be one.

If we lose, I'm hoping that Bradford have fielded an illegible player, before we then sweep Middlesbrough aside and rollover Leeds at Wembley in extra time.

And then you know what comes next.....

You say this in jest SteveO but actually it is true. This game is our most important thus far because we simply have to win a fucking trophy at last this season and the COC is our best hope.

I don't care what happens to the senile leader as a result of a potential COC truimph, I just want to see Arsenal win a trophy, any trophy.

I'd rather play with 10 men then field either Squillaci or Djourou. Useless, spineless, talentless greedy wankers.

I'm perfectly fucking serious mate. I couldn't give two hoots about the CL and we're out of the title (as for the Virtual Trophy - it can be stuck where the sun virtually doesn't shine). I would say that the FA Cup game at Swansea was equally important but knowing how Le Goon treats the competition when it gets to the 5th round stage and the Boreathon League is back on its not worth wasting emotion over.

This is the biggest game until hopefully we make the semi finals

agree, no hope in league no hope in the CL he will sacrifice fa cup for the imaginary 4th place trophy, our best chance of silverware is the league cup.Few years ago i would have told you this was a mickey mouse cup,but beggars cant be choosers, win it monkeys off our back regarding the 8 years without a REAL trophy, sometimes i think peoples hatred for wenger clouds their judgement,im arsenal fan not a wenger fan.

The feeling is good, serene even, we are not without hope.

We are not totally shit and are playing as well as we can. Yes, it's a nailed on Arsenal win and yet.........our front two are as good as any in L1&L2, if the CB's really are Squillaci & Miquel then James Hanson will be very happy, he is a work-a-holic brick shithouse and will give them hell. Our ace though is Nahki Wells who won't be in L2 for long, going places is that lad. All it takes is a punt and a flick. :D

Chamakh up front? I'll take that and will wager money that Wells looks more of a player.

You do realise that we ain't going to win this cup? Norwich, Swansea and Chelsea have already beaten our first team. Villa got a draw. Boro are having a good season, especially away, and as for Leeds, well, say no more.
Cream yer pants over Bradford cos it's the last glory moment of this season, I'm afraid.

This team is fundamentally brittle and heartless. This comes from our manager. When push comes to shove we will bottle the opportunity for this cup.

What's the point in playing Djourou, Squid, Chamakh and all? They'll never stay here long term or play any significant part in the team. Just put out a strong team and we give ourselves a chance to win the thing. Rather win at Bradford and lose to Reading than the other way round!

Anyhoo, can't wait for that one. We'll drink Bradford dry!!!

Exactly. I've said it before, greedy wankers like Djourou and Squillaci who stay because of bloated contracts with no prospect of first-team football should be made to train with the kids. Or preferably shot. Although a manager who thinks like that wouldn't have actually given them long-term deals on £50k/w in the first place :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
