That nurse didnt even divulge the info she only passed on the call and she was NOT being disciplined by the hospital about it so whats the big deal? She must have had other problems in her life if that tipped her over the edge. We've all played pranks on people workmates or whatever and its not like Kate Middleton was dying of cancer, she had morning sickness FFS.

TBH - I cannot believe the poor nurse killed herself ONLY because of this piss take. Again, I may be wrong there but I get the feeling there may have been other issues and maybe this incident was the final straw or something, but to kill yourself ONLY because of a stupid prank? I dunno...
Either way it is tragic for the family of the nurse.

Trying to dampen the public witch-hunt OBG, and limit the commercial damage to the radio station. And tbf I bet they still feel pretty terrible too.
Obviously what they did was wrong but the worst part was that they intended to waste hospital time for a cheap laugh. The thing was a piss-take and I truly think that they never believed they would be put through when they were putting on wacky accents with fake corgis pretending to be the Queen and Prince Philip, especially by an experienced nurse, and then least of all that she would commit suicide.
Obviously gutted for her friends and family though.

I agree with the society thing Fwash ...And how it's very easy for people to Direct Blame at others...it happens all the time in our/all societies - It IS wrong...because on the most basic of levels if humans actually took responsibility - if All of Us did - then the world would be a far better, nicer, safer more peaceful place...but no one wants the responsibility for anything - "we" (human race - collectively and individually - to varying degrees) have all become flacid, lazy and deceitful in the way we live our lives and how we treat everyone and everything around us...which is why the planet is well and truly fucked.
I take your point that I'm sure they never thought a simple joke - and had I been listening to it I also would have thought it funny - could go so terribly wrong - the woman in question Jacintha Sadantha was obviously 'ill' and in need of help - but it might be said that so are many others - again I say it is partly due to the way society/s now are...sad but true.
I remember when jonathan woss and russell brand did that call to Andrew Sachs - they did it for a 'alerf' (Ho Ho) and ended up causing a right shyte storm. ...I just hope something (socially) positive will come from this - already the radio station in question are setting up a fund for her children in the region of £300k ..Dunno but maybe I should 'do one' and ensure my kids are set up for life...see cynicism is everywhere
