THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We are potentially less than a week away from being back in the Virtual Trophy places and I guarantee if that happens that the club will just allow this all to blow over and Le Goon will smugly sit back and do fuck all in the January window. Finishing 4th is the worst thing that can happen as Gazidis and Kroenke will slide back into the acceptance zone of Lord Wenger making them money

We need a rich owner to come along and buy one of the other PL clubs and ensure that the top four becomes a lock-in between the two Mancs, the Chavs and whoever the new club is. All the while, we can shop at Lidl and Aldi for our signings and scrape into 4th the malaise will continue

As much as I never want us to lose a single game I am also pragmatic enough to agree that retaining the 4th place virtual trophy this season would be a very bad thing long-term for the club as it will justify Wenger's policies to the money-motivated Board and extend his stay. :|

Gazidis has a perfect opportunity here to redeem himself in my opinion

If he really is sincere in what he says about Wenger having substantial funds to improve the squad, and that he is sympathetic to fans concerns, then he should be having a very simple conversation with Wenger - along the lines of "we expect to see the money invested because the team quite clearly isn't good enough and we'd expect that to result in a top 4 finish. If you chose not to do it and we finish outside the top 4 that's the end of the line".

Very simple, if Lord Wenger wants to live by this stubbornness then he should also die by it

The problem is I really don't believe what Gazidis is saying at all. He's a professional marketeer whose job it is to keep fans onside

Problem is how far away wenger and gazidas feel we are from "being good" enough - we all know that the c**ts on the board (and I include wenger in that cos he sits in board meetings) are only interested in doing "just enough" to get that top 4 spot so if we have 50m-60m available but those 2 clowns feel that spending 20m will be enough to get top 4 then that is all they will spend :evil:
At the end of the day it is also impossible to ignore the lack of quality we are getting in our recruitments (a few exceptions apart) so regardless of how big the transfer kitty is, do we trust these c**ts to use it properly ? :roll:

That conversation will never happen as perversely in the warpt world of modern day Arsenal it is Arsene Wenger who is Ivan Gazidis's boss and not the other way round as would be the case in every other club/business in the world :roll:

It's a shame, on paper we have a talented team who are being taught how to play in utterly the wrong way. :banghead: if Pep was in charge I bet this team wouldn't require much more investment.

How can anybody think it's a good state of affairs when the manager of a football club is involved in appointing the CEO? It belies the power he holds at the club and also where his focus is.

I am fucking sick of Arseblog;

http://news.arseblog.com/2012/12/bould- ... ent-148637

This fucking pro-Wenger *word censored* continually posts snide little articles and new stories for his AKB collective who all like a little chuckle while they profess to be the 'real' Arsenal fans.

These *word censored* are posting about Wenger signing Cavani in January and how there are no suitable replacements for Wenger. Arseblog really is the last bastion of hope for the AKB's, and they are all shit scared of how stupid they will look in a few months time.

Arseblog himself sits on his massive fence on his shitty podcast telling his shitty, unfunny jokes. Never before has a website/podcast said so much whilst making so few actual points.
