German fans begin silent protests

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: German fans begin silent protests

[quote="Dan_85"]Tomas, sorry to hear that these new laws were accepted today! One step closer towards English "atmosphere" in Germany :(

Hi Dan,
First of all two links at the BBC page:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20711610
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20708310

Regarding the number: Twice as many fans were injured last season as the year before.
We disagree with those numbers because we think that the reports are not correct or that the numbers are not being correct counted and also more important you have to put in relation to the attendance and also to other public events like rock concerts, Oktoberfest, etc. where more injuries happens then during an average Bundesliga season.

So the good thing we will still have standing stands.
Two crucial points are:
- The maybe full body checks in some circumstances
- The possibility of reducing the away tickets from now guaranteed 10% down to a lower capacity for high security games after detailed information why that should be

This weekend will be the last one; the back season starts after the winter break.
Not sure how the protest will look like, maybe silence again or empty stadiums or something else, we will see.

Cheers,
Thomas
