Weekend games 15-17 Dec

Post by SteveO 35 »

So if all goes to plan then the Christmas Party preparations can begin by us creeping into the glorious Virtual Trophy places on Monday night and the big Arsene love-in can begin all over again.

However, home wins for Liverpool, Norwich, Stoke and we could be 10th going into this one. Would only need West Brom's recent slump to continue at the hands of the Shammers and we could even be in the bottom half

Anyone else cheering for City today on the basis that a) don't want Chavs or Van Savile's new mates winning the league and b) more concerned about Newcastle catching us than us catching City

Or is it that citeeh, on their day, are a class above EVERYBODY else ? They play football close to the level that our best teams have displayed almost a decade ago and that is no mean feat. Manure, for all their trophies, have never come anywhere near the level of football that we were producing all those years ago.
I will agree though that the Geordies are nowhere near the level that they were at last season - that being said I wouldn't put as much as 10p on our bottlers to get even a draw up there nowadays :(

Playing good football and being a good team are two completely different things. I agree that City play the best football when they're on their game, although I wouldn't say that it's necessarily as great as ours used to be. United will win the league this year because they've got so much attacking quality and they've won all of their big games.

I wasn't that impressed when we outplayed them in the ArenA and managed to get a draw at the Etihad. Dortmund won against City with the second team? I guess they must be very strong 8) :rubchin:

I don't agree with you mate. It's alarming how often in the last 10 months or so he's failed to turn up in games completely. Class when he does turn up but it's not like last year when he was playing blinders every single game before Christmas.

Yaya Toure, on the other hand, is without fail immense. Best midfielder in the league for me, comfortably.
