Looking for the positives

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Looking for the positives

Post by Wengerball »

Now we all seem to be having (rightly) a right good go at ODL and certain members of the playing staff, its kind of making us forget the small crumbs of comfort during this hard time. There are some things that can perhaps be taken forward from this debacle once it has run its course and things that make watching the Arsenal at the moment slightly less unbearable than it could be.

I'll start us off with the return of Jack as my highlight of recent times.I was genuinely worried that he might go the way of a certain Welsh player in our ranks after his long lay off but hes shown signs that he can still fulfill that great potential he has. He was the only player, I thought, against Bradford that looked like he gave a shit.

Kieran Gibbs has also impressed me this season (perhaps hes being made to look good by Santos  ).

No doubt in the coming weeks and months we'll all still be grumbling about Arsenes tactics and some absolute shite results but I thought it'd be a good idea to look at the shoots of recovery that would perhaps lift the feeling of doom we are all currently suffering from.

1) At least we didn't get any injuries

2) "Tonka looked knackered after 20 minutes!" Yeah, but what a 20 minutes.

Sagna - good right back, but leaving?
Gibbs - good left back, but injured too often!
Arteta - solid midfielder performer.
Wilshere - Arsenal DNA.
Walcott - finally coming good but leaving?
Cazorla - top notch.
Oxlade-Chamberlain - truly great prospect but struggling!
Yennaris - looks superb, for his age.
The stadium is built - I like it, but many do not.

Even listing positives, there are numerous disclaimers!

Spurs are still not very good either. Liverpool persistent shiteness shows no signs of abating. We hammered Spurs.

The unbeaten run of the Imperious Abou now stretches to 21 months and we've still got him to come back fitter and stronger then ever to rescue our season

Jack's back to pre-injury form

Liverpool are worse than us, despite having one of the world's best strikers
