As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I just said, I watched pretty much every game live.
This season I've been to the Emirates twice for the first time if that's what you mean?
Altho I don't see your point there.
My point is that you can not see from a TV or computer screen what someone is bringing to the Team. You criticise Gilberto without seeing him play live, and that is not right.

I think it's far easier to judge how a player is playing from a tv screen, much easier in fact.
But alas, if we're not allowed to have an opinion on how someone is playing simply because we don't go to every live game, then so be it
Eboue runs 40 yards with the ball gets to the edge of the box and he doesn"t know what to do.He just hasn"t got a brain. It drives me made that Wenger continues to play this failed full back on the wing. The longer he is in the team means we will continue to not have a natural wingerwho can beat his man and put crosses in for the strikers. The guy is not good enough for Arsenal.
Sell him now

Nobody's saying you can't have an opinion, but if you think TV gives you a better view of a game of football then you are completely wrong. Perhaps some of the other regular game goers have a view on that?
Watching the game on TV is no where near the same as watching it live. You can see every run made, every movement made by players of the ball, positioning. ECT. loads of reasons i could give why goign to the game is far more educating than watcing it on TV.
Also, on tv i feel your drawn into listening to the commentators and you start believeing their views are correct.
I only ever really realised how great a centre half TA6 was when I saw him live for the first time back in 91. The way he marshalled the back four, constantly talking to and encouraging (and bollicking if need be) the players all around him was superb. TV can never show you that. Football is played as much off the ball as it is on the ball but TV mostly shows the action where the ball is. No comparison.

I disagree.
I've watched many live games in person and when people have asked me about what happened after, I haven't been able to give a full opinion because I just don't think you see as much, plus you don't have the full benefit of constant replays.
Most people watch the ball anyway, so it makes no difference!
Everytime I see a live game, I wish I had watched it on TV. The only benefit for me is the atmosphere and the feeling of actually being there.
I'd love to go to every Arsenal game, but time, social life and money don't permit it. Altho next season I reckon I could justify one game every two months.
Sorry, but I am not going to agree or be persuaded that TV gives a better view. You are the only person I have ever come across that thinks you see a game better on the TV.

I'm not trying to persuade you, I'm just saying that's the way I see it.
Regardless, I'd rather be there at every game ofcourse.
I THINK WATCHING ON THE BOX GIVES YOU BETTER ON-THE-BALL ACTION BECAUSE OF THE REPLAYS, BUT I AGREE WITH DVBRISGOONER1 THAT YOU GET A BETTER VIEW AND UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT PLAYERS ACTUALLY DO WHEN THE BALL ISN'T NEAR THEM BY ACTUALLY BEING THERE AT THE GROUND.

That is how I identified that Adebayor's movement is shit Instead of running behind the defence for a through ball when Fabregas is running at the opposition's defence, he just stands there with his back to goal and waits for the ball
Eboue is the worst player for Arsenal this seaon any game i have watched this season with him playing he has been rubbish. He is fuc*king useless he gives noyhing to the team.
