Premier League growing some bollocks?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Chelsea didn't spend wisely before. But people are trying to use them as a prime example justify new rules because they have a sugardaddy who has facilitated great success and crazy spending, even though they're far more financially secure than they were before.

As I said, it's just an attempt to level the playing field due to jealousy masquerading as a necessity to offer clubs protection.

As you've said above olgit, football is a business now. Let it be run as one then. You'll be hard pushed to find too many industries in which businesses are prevented from capital investment and expenditure.

The whole concept of salary capping is against EU Law as it is a restriction on Trade ,so its is a non starter !
And it would be naive in the extreme if you think that salary caps will bring cheaper prices at the turnstile ,it won't .
Moreover if the Qataris and other Arabs ,build a few more stadiums in the desert prior to 2020 Europe will get drained of it's top talent as rival Arabs have their Own local football teams compete with each other for massive wages.

The FA will do what they normally do ......................FA !

Herd, what about rugby league and other European sports that implement a salary cap? It's not a restriction on trade if you implement it against British players too.

But agree that it will never happen.
