I'd be more than happy to have him on loan - not sure what's in it for the player or his club mind you?

Arsene Wenger will try to sign Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez, 24, instead of Barcelona's David Villa because he is concerned about paying too much for a 31-year-old.

Sunday Mirror

Arsenal are weighing up a January move for Sunderland's Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, 24.

Bloody hope not, mind I looked at the link and it suggests Wenger is prepared to pay £5m, I'd be expecting us to hold out for a lot more than that for one of the best young keepers in the league. I'd expect closer to £10m and tbh since you have Schezny I doubt it would be worth buying Mignolet to sit on the bench. He's a quality keeper and he has a song to the tune of The Lion Sleeps Tonight off the Lion King so he needs to stay.

Will we really buy anyone of quality? I'm never convinced until the player has signed and is in an Arsenal shirt. I just never can trust what is being floated in the media. The money is there, that's finally been put out there, so I sure hope he uses it. I would prefer picking up an attacking player that is eligible to play in the CL for us though.

Will we buy quality?Probably not.Wengers ratio of signing quality is about 20% in recent seasons for every Cazorla and Arteta comes Chamakh Squillaci Park Santos Gervinho and Giroud. And the recent award of a contract to Ramsey doesnt bode well.Anyway Henry's coming back :barscarf:
