HLEB what the fuck

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

it's only a coincidence that he stopped scoring since he cut his air - obviously that isn't the reason why he has lost form. anyone who thinks it is is a deluded wanker. but anyway, i don't think thatsong of his should be sung unless he has already scored in the match. :?

Calm down! Obviously his hair has nothing to do with his form!

But keep to the point, we're not talking about Ade, we're talking about Hleb. His hair's very 1980's.

Ok, so that's....

Wenger
Almunia
Eboue
Adebayor
Hleb

who have all been criticized today on this forum.

It's almost a mentality I'd associate with England fans (kill Beckham, it's his fault the team is so shit etc), not Arsenal.

But the main reason Hleb has to go is the way his gob looks when he's photographed on the ball in the paper. What's all that about?!?!

PS Only joking. He's possibly the most annoyingly gifted player we have. Great at spinning around out of trouble and making space for himself but too unselfish and actually has a great shot on him that he refuses to use. If he was being chatted up in Milan then it's out of order and if he wants to go then you know Mr Wenger won't stand in his way.

ABO, I was only joking honest!!!!
Personally, I don't want any of the present squad to go, apart from a particular right sided gentleman!!!! We need to add rather than take away. The manager will keep Hleb if Hleb wants to stay. But that's the question, does he?

So basically we need a new left & right winger, plus at least one back-up (that's assuming Theo is the second back-up)

It is worrying. That's pretty major surgery on a team when you take into account the other positions that need sorting (goalkeeper)

I'm surprised and worried that Wenger has let it get this bad. I trust him to sort it, but I'm not sure if he actually recognises the problem!
That's pretty much my thoughts also. We have too many wide players who aren't naturals in their position i.e. they've all been converted from another position. I don't know who is available in the summer but 2 wide players are an absoloute necessity. If we get them we will go very close next year as we haven't done too badly considering. I would bite Inters hands off if they want to pay silly money for Hleb as he's has no end product and is very inconsistent.

I like Helb, but I think he is fed up with being kicked to pieces every game and wants to move abroad.

Opposition teams always target him to kick, because they know he is our most skillfull player, even more skillful with ball than Van Persie.

Hleb has incredible ball control, second to only Bergkamp in passing ability to thread a ball through a packed defence, holds onto ball well, and has pace.

But...he holds onto ball too long at times, when it is best to play a quick trap and pass.

He is a number 10/second striker, no way is he a winger.

He played poorly today.

He has played in patches of brilliance over his time at Arsenal, and in patches of looking totally alone on the pitch.

You cannot in any universe call a man that refuses to shoot a 2nd striker

I can call him a second striker...so many of the pundits feel his best position is behind a striker too.

He brings out the best in Adebayor when he plays there, some of our best performances at start of season were with Hleb behind Adebayor.

THERE'S NO DOUBT THAT, MILAN APART, HLEB HAS BEEN POOR FOR A NUMBER OF MATCHES AND LEAVING ASIDE HIS LACK OF SCORING GOALS, SIMPLY HASN'T BEEN DOING ENOUGH IN GAMES. WITH EBOUE EQUALLY INEFFECTIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE, AT TIMES IT HAS APPEARED TO ME THAT WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH 9 MEN.
