A hidden gem is right next door to piebury corner on the holloway road, its a kebab house called constolia. You can get a great kebab (not like others greasy shite) charcoal grilled for around £8, they also serve the crispest pint of lager in the area efes. Its soo smooth, its like drinking on the continent, none of this paint stripper shit you get from the local pubs. £4 a pint so not cheap but definitely worth it.North-Bank-1987 wrote:What are the favourite places to eat pre match?
I always go and get a chicken burger from Eden's on Seven sisters, there is a fish and chip shop next door which is always packed but I've no't tried, the burgers in the rocket are spot on, and cheap (£2 as to £3 everywhere else).
I still havn't tried Piebury corner although heard very good things. Also has anyone tried the hogroast, think it's on Gillespie Rd. before the KF bridge?
Look forward to some recommendations

In the winter, have a good breakfast before you travel, wear a big jacket, and bring a bottle of water and a sandwich plus a super food like blueberries into the ground, does you for the full game, then enjoy sustenance outside the ground after the game. Don't let Gazidis screw you for money.

If we're up early enough sometimes nip to Cafe Euro on Holloway Road for a fry-up.

You can t go far wrong with Piebury corner
Re: pre match grub
Love the kebabs at the Turkish Cafe on Hornsey Road, just down from Seven Sisters Road. And if we're running short of time then the chippie on the corner next to Denton's roundabout always goes down a treat.
Re: pre match grub
The Trevi at Highbury Corner Holloway road is superb and the little Ecuadorian place further down on the other side is great value too .

This is the only place a true fan would eat

Hog Roast is good. Piebury Corner is very nice as well, and the samosa place a few people mentioned (Curry in a Hurry) by the Triangle is class, you get a good mint yogurt sauce with em as well. That's about it for places a stone's throw from the ground, the Chinese chippy is horrible.
There's a decent fry-up place on the HR (Worker's Cafe I think it's called) and the Arsenal Cafe on the Blackstock is good for breakfasts.
At FP Eden chicken by the Gunners Fish Bar is quite good, Yildiz Ocakbasi on the Blackstock is meant to be nice but I've never been, the kebab shop next to the Pins is vile and will give you all sorts of diseases.
Holloway Road side there isn't too much, Amigos the Mexican place is OK, but that's pretty much it fast food wise, apart from the new Piebury deli.
Loads of good restaurants about, from the Argentinian place on the Blackstock, to El Rincon Quiteno on the Holloway Road, Trullo at Highbury Corner and loads on Upper Street.
I also have a question in terms of food at Arsenal that I've not found an answer to in months. Read a food review of a top drawer Korean restaurant in Kensington I think, where the two women that run it spend their Saturdays at Arsenal doing street food. Korean beef I think. Apparently it's next to a Jerk Chicken stall. I know there's that jerk chicken place by Highbury House, but does anyone know where the korean place is?

£4 a pop! It's brilliant grub mate & it's in Drayton Park next to the Jerk Chicken stall, sometimes I'll have one before & one on the way out, especially when we've just beat the Toon 7-3

I've not seen this Korean place mate, although Korean beef does sound quite appealing.
Very tasty Steve, Cheers for the tip.Steve_I wrote:I often thought about getting a samosa from that stall and eventually did... I get one every time I walk past on way home from game now. Worth acting on that thought imo...
