I've heard a few people (on here and in the media) suggest Ba's somehow showing/shown signs of an attitude problem during this contract stand-off with Newcastle but I'm not sure what anyone's basing that on. If Walcott deserves credit for knuckling down and putting in performances on the pitch despite what is or isn't happening off it then surely Ba deserves even more?I Hate Hleb wrote:Not sure about the 'massive wages'. Because of the fear over his injury, I read somewhere that Ba was only on something like £20,000 a week at Newcastle plus some kind of bonus. Yes, the agents/hangers on are apparently asking for squillions, which will push the price up a bit but certainly not enough to put us off signing him if we genuinely wanted to. He's certainly a better striker than anyone on our books currently.GranadaJoe wrote:People keep talking about Ba at 7mil as being a steal, as if that would be the only cost. He clearly wants massive wages, plus a big signing-on bonus and it would appear his agents want a fortune as well.
I think he's a good player and I'd have had him from Wham for nothing, but I don't like his attitude and he won't be a cheap option.
The talk of Adrian Lopez is cheering me up. He's a really good player and the majority of my friend, neighbours and students consider him much better than LLorente, Negrado, Soldado etc. If his buy-out is 14mil he'd be my first choice.

Re: "The window is almost open!" Transfer Rumour thread
Hannover have admitted they are interested in bringing Arsenal defender Johan Djourou to the club in the January tranfser window.
The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour with manager Arsene Wenger having only made two appearances for the Gunners this campaign. The Switzerland international, who joined the club as a teenager, has yet to feature in the Premier League with Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker all ahead of him in the pecking order. Now the former Birmingham City loanee could be set for a fresh start in the Bundesliga with Hannover chief Martin Kind admitting the club's interest in the player. He told BILD newspaper:
"I am able to confirm that we are very interested in bringing Johan Djourou to the AWD-Arena.
"He is on our short list of names and there have been some concrete talks with Arsenal going on."
Meanwhile, the club's general manager Jorg Schmadtke says any potential move for the centre-back would be a short-term deal as he is contracted to Arsenal until 2015. He said:
"We do intend to loan the player first until the end of the season and we will make a decision on his future."

"Yes, we are not convinced that the wages he appears to be on are anywhere near his talent so we're wondering what the fuck Mr.Wenger was doing"

He may well bring players in, but they will be just as shite as those he loans out, it's been a constant merry-go-round of crap players for almost 8 fucking years.TeeCee wrote:Wenger says he will be busy in the transfer market?........ There's another thread on here about Song being the worst la liga signing this season, Wenger must be guilty of the worst premiership signings for the last 7 seasons in a row, from Denilson to Vela to Bischoff to Park to Santos the list is fucking endless.

Chavski meet demba ba release fee and are meeting him today so ba has been withdrawn from Geordies squad for tonight's game - I might be wrong but I think we might well regret not signing this guy
