Natalie's bongo's were great again this year transfer thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

We dont need to sign anybody. Diaby is fit again and that will be like a new signing.

For the first transfer window ever and for two reasons i don't want us to sign anyone

a. This current mob isn't good enough to get top 4 but will come close IMO and any new transfers might tip the balance in our favour, the only way the owners of the club will accept things aren't right at the club is if the cash stops rolling in and missing out on the European Cup is the only thing for them

and

b. I don't trust Wenger to buy the right players and he should not be allowed to weigh down the club with anymore shit overpayed players for (possible) future managers to have to deal with

Agree with you 100% flash but with one added stipulation.....I would rather finish 7th or 8th than 5th - I know that it is unlikely but if we were to get our prayers answered and a new manager installed in the summer then I would hate to see their first season in charge being royally fcuked up by thursday night football.

Even that won't be enough because the Board will probably say that they won't get rid of Wenger 'after just one bad season' and that 'he's the right man to get us back into the top 4'!! :banghead: :banghead:  The only way is if Wenger realises it's best for the club if he steps done voluntarily, and I don't think he's ego will allow him to do that.

I do hope he is staying. The Away Boyz have already agreed to be there at my celebration party when the contract extension gets signed

Benayoun was an ok, hard working player, nothing more. Roshitsky when totally fit is a FAR better player.

I still don't think we will sign anyone, we will get rid of a couple and that will be Old Man Wenger's new year present to Stan Kranky...a saving of 5-6m a year in wages, well worth a little wage rise for Tzar Wenger!!

There will be a token 20 year old French/African second rater that's played about 10 half decent games in Ligue 1, or the kid from Plymouth to come along and lift the gloom

Not a fucking chance, i said weeks ago we wouldn't and I'm more convinced now, and can see the mousers catching us, we will end up 7th, maybe worse if we throw the towel in.
